The keyboard uses DC12V 1A, you can use the adapter included in the accessories bag.

After you exit the system, unplug the power cable to turn off the device.

The menu may vary due to different products. The following figure is based on the network keyboard.

The main menu list is shown as below. See Figure 2-2.

Use the joystick on keyboard to move up/down/left/right to select items.

Use keyboard to input number or character to set parameters.

Click [ENTER] to confirm current operation. Click [ESC] to exit.

The system manager includes time setup, network setup, address setup, aux setup, system update and logo update. See Figure 2-3.

It is to set keyboard system time. It includes year, month, date, minute and second. See Figure 2-4.

The address value ranges from 0 to 255. The default setup is 0. When there is cascade connection, the 0 has the highest priority and the 255 has the lowest priority. See Figure 2-6.

Do not remove the flash disk during the whole process. Otherwise it may result in upgrade failure and the network keyboard can not boot up properly.

Please select system update interface and click [ENTER] button to go to the update interface. Follow the prompt to click the [ENTER] to update.

Please contact your local retailer or visit our official website to get the Windows upgrade tool. The REC Upgrade or REC Upgrade are both OK. If the ConfigTool can not search the keyboard, please upgrade manually.

Now we use REC Upgrade for an example. The interface is shown as below. See Figure 2-8.

Note

If you can not use the 37777 to upgrade, it means the application layer did not boot up properly. Please use port 3800 to upgrade. The upgrade process can become successful no matter the application layer properly booted up or not.

2.3.1.6 Logo update

The logo upgrade function is for speed dome keyboard or analog keyboard series product. You can update logo.bin file if necessary.

It is to set control point information. See Figure 2-9. All the items listed below shall be set. You can use the ID, device name, COM address or the IP address to search a device easily in chapter 2.4.

When your link mode is net, please input corresponding administrator password to login.

Please go to the controlled device to set the user name and password. The DVR and NVR have the rights management to realize password verification.

Here is for you to change password, add user, and delete user and its rights. See Figure 2-11.

Select a user and then input new password. Usually we recommend 6-digit password and you can change the input method to input password value. Input password again to confirm. You can see the corresponding dialogue box if your two passwords input here are not the same. Please click [ESC] to return to modify and click [ENTER] button to save. See Figure 2-12.

The configuration manager includes configuration files import/export, clear zones and factory default setup. See Figure 2-15.

Insert the flash disk that contains the upgrade files to the keyboard and the go to the import interface. Click [ENTER] to import the configuration files.

Insert the flash disk to the keyboard and then go to the export interface. Click [ENTER] to export the configuration files.

Go to the clear zones interface and then click [ENTER] to clear all control points.

Go to the default interface and then click [ENTER] to restore keyboard configuration to factory default setup.

It is for you to view current version information and etc. See Figure 2-16.

2.4 Zones

In this interface, you can quickly search a device via device ID, device name, COM address, IP and etc. See Figure 2-17.

3 Keyboard Control Speed Dome

Please connect keyboard A/B line to speed dome A/B line connection.

Note

On the keyboard, click [ID] to go to the control point interface to set speed dome ID to connect to the speed dome.

After successful connection, the interface is shown as below. See Figure 3-1.

On the keyboard, click [IRIS] button, use button [+]and[-]or turn joystick up/down to control the iris.

On the keyboard click [FOCUS] button, use button [+]and[-]or turn joystick left/right to control the focus.

On the keyboard click [ZOOM] button, use button [+]and[-]or turn joystick clockwise or counter clockwise to control the zoom.

Shortcut Mode

[PRESET], the interface is shown as below. See Figure 3-2.

Input preset number and then select [Set], click [ENTER] to save preset setup.

Input preset number and then select [Goto], click [ENTER] to go to the corresponding preset position.

Input the preset number and then select [Del], click [ENTER] to remove it.

On the Use mode, use keyboard to input [No.]+[Scan], you can call a scan. Click [Scan]to stop it.

On Set mode, click [SCAN] button, the interface is shown as below. See Figure 3-3.

On the Use mode, click [Pan]button on the keyboard, the speed dome begins pan. Click [Pan]again to stop it.

Shortcut Mode

On the Use mode, use keyboard to input [No.]+[Pattern], you can call a pattern. Click [Pattern]again to stop it.

General Mode

On Set mode, click [PATTERN]on the keyboard, the interface is shown as below. See Figure 3-8.

Select pattern No. and then input a pattern number, select start and then click [ENTER] button, system begins pattern operation.

Select pattern No. and then input a pattern number, select stop and then click [ENTER] button, system stops pattern operation.

The default setup is shown as below.

Please note keyboard setup should conform to DVR setup.

The network connection steps are similar to the COM setup. Please note, on the zones interface, the link type shall be NET.

Please input DVR IP address, the control point port is 37777. The protocol is the same as the COM setup. Please refer to chapter 2.3.2 control point for detailed information.

The DVR local user has the higher priority than the keyboard user. Before you login, please logout the DVR local menu user, otherwise, you can not use the keyboard to control the device.

You can select ID, device name, IP address, RS232, RS485 and etc to login.

System auto connect to the DVR after successfully search operation.

Tips

Click [ID] on the keyboard and then input ID number. Click [ENTER] to quickly find the device.

Click [ID] on the keyboard and then click [ESC] to exit current menu.

For example, input 16 and then click split button, you can realize 16-split function on the DVR.

If you use the joystick now:

Input 9 and then click CAM button, the DVR displays the video from channel 9.

Click [PLAY] on the keyboard, you can go to the DVR search interface. Use joystick to control the playback buttons such as stop, fast play, slow play and etc. Click [ENTER] to confirm. See

Figure 4-1.

Login the Web of the decoder, you can see the following interface. See Figure 5-1.

Click the Splicing wall on the left pane; you can go to the following interface. See Figure 5-2.

Click Fast splicing button, you can realize 1 X1 setup conveniently.

For the network keyboard, it support 2X2 and etc splicing setup. Please follow the steps listed below.

In Figure 5-2.click Info manager button, you can view and edit the corresponding screen control SN.

For network keyboard, click the [Control ID] + [PLAY] one by one, you can select the output screen quickly. See Figure 5-3.

Login the WEB of the decoder, from [Setting] -> [Remote device] , you can add the

corresponding input source. Click the edit button — ,you can edit the correspondong control SN.

See Figure 5-4.

For network keyboard, click the [Control ID]+[CAM], you can output the video to the TV wall.

The device type is NVD and step default value is 64.

Please refer to chapter 8.1 to use RS232 COM to connect the network keyboard to the analog matrix.

Network keyboard can control the analog matrix to realize the following function. See Figure 6-1.

When you are using the network keyboard to control the analog matrix, please click the [No.]+ [CAM], you can use the front panel of the matrix to switch the video.

For example, click [016]+[032]+[CAM], you can switch the 32nd channel video input of the front panel of the matrix to the 16th output channel.

Login the WEB of the video matrix platform (M60/M70), and then select splice control you can go to the following interface. See Figure 7-1.

The network keyboard supports TV wall combination on the video matrix platform. You can add the video wall you want to control as the splicing screen and then add the plan for each TV wall.

• Follow the steps listed below to control the splicing screen.

Click [Cancel], you can cancel the splicing operation.

8 Make COM Cable

Please refer to the following figure to make RS323 cable.

When use the network keyboard to control the analog matrix, RS232 Com adopts the straight mode: 2-2, 3-3, 5-5. Straight through connection mode is shown as in Figure 8-1.

When use the keyboard to control other device, RS232 Com adopts the crossover connection mode: 2-3, 3-2, 5-5. Crossover connection mode is shown as in Figure 8-2.

Connect switch 25-pin box RS232 port with DVR RS232 port. (25-pin outlet supports maximum twelve RS232 ports. Switch is just for sending not for receiving. So you can use two cables: GND and TXD)

Please refer to the following figure if you are connecting 485 switch box to DVR See Figure 8-4.

485->232 switch box does not need the TXD cable. The 1 to 8 COM port already supports this function.

Navigator Database Error

The newer versions of Navigator software can now detect if there is any issues or errors with its ‘syspro.db3’ database file. This is usually the cause of the database error.

If you are experiencing a database error warning messaged displaying on your Navigator software, please follow the steps below.

1) Close any open instances of the Navigator software.

2) Navigate to the following location on your hard drive:

C:\Program Files\Merit LILIN\CMX38
.

3) Locate and delete the ‘syspro.db3’ file.
.

4) Re-run the LILIN Navigator software. This will re-create the ‘syspro.db3’ file and should clear the database error message.

Live video looks stuttery and is not smooth

If you experience an issue where live video does not look smooth and is stuttery, please check the following option is set to off in the Navigator software.

Which ports do i use when adding the LILIN Navigator software to client software

To add a Navigator server to the client software, please use the ports as shown below.

Changing the temperature format displayed within Navigator between Fahrenheit and celsius

To change the temperature format displayed in Navigator between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

This settings is adjusted from within Windows 10 itself. Please take the steps below.

1) Close Navigator and all Navigator components

2) Click on the ‘Start’

3) In windows search bar search for ‘Region Settings’

4) Within ‘Region Settings’ select ‘Additional date, time & region settings’

5) In the new pop-up window select ‘Change date, time or number formats’.

6) Another region related box will pop-up, select the ‘Administrative’ tab at the top and then ‘Change System Locale…’

7) Select ‘English (united Kingdom) and OK any open windows.

8) Re-launch the Navigator Software.

2n Door Station Settings when used with the Navigator Software

If you are looking to use a 2n door station with a Navigator server, first you must ensure that your Navigator software has the required licences to allow the software to connect to ONVIF cameras.

Run the Nav software and click the ? icon in the top right hand side. You will get a popup box, confirm that the ‘Third-party’ section has a value after it. This is the amount of ONVIF cameras your licence will allow you to use.

How to update existing CMX / Navigator Software to a newer version

1) Check to see that the operating system you are going to load the Navigator software on is a 64bit operating system.

2) Once its been confirmed the PC OS is 64bit, download the latest version of Navigator from the link below:

3) Close the existing software and take a backup of the CMX/Navigator database, using the instructions found on the guides below:

4) Uninstall the existing CMX / Navigator software using Windows Control Panel

5) Install the downloaded version of Navigator software.

When the software first runs, it should pop up with the on-screen message shown below, select ‘Yes’.

If the software does not prompt you to import the previous camera configuration, use the Database Restore guide below:

6) The software should now load and be usable.

Leave the software running for 10 – 15 minutes and check playback and system functionality.

Where do i enter my LILIN Navigator registration code

This guide assumes you already have your LILIN Navigator licence code.

To enter the registration code in to the LILIN Navigator software, first open the software and log in. The default username and password is:

Username: admin
Password: <Leave Blank>

Once the software is open, select the ? icon in the top right hand side of the software.

You will now see a pop-up box, select ‘Register’.

You will now get another pop-up box. Enter your registration details here.

You must enter the email address that the code was issued to. If you want to use a different email address you will need to generate a different licence code.

Camera randomly showing video loss but camera doesnt go offline on a Nav Server

If you experience video loss being displayed randomly on cameras on a Navigator system please check the settings below.

Right click on the channel with the camera showing video loss randomly.

It is recommend to check all channels on the Nav server have this setting applied.

Navigator connecting to a remote camera using DDNS

If you are using the Navigator software to connect to a camera on a different site or using a DDNS address you will need to open both the cameras HTTP port and RTSP port on the remote site.

Since Navigator version 2.0.0.128 the recording software will not connect with just the HTTP port open unless a work around is used.

If it is not possible to open the cameras RTSP port then enter the open HTTP port in the following location on the Navigator camera properties screen.

Live view of cameras on a Navigator server using an Apple Mac

It is possible to view live cameras being displayed on a LILIN Navigator server using an Apple Mac.
(Please note only live viewing is possible on an Apple Mac, playback and backup are not supported)

To view live cameras from your Navigator server you will need to connect to the Navigator server using the Safari browser. In addition to the Safari browser you will also need to down and install the latest version of Java.

You will need to access the Navigator software using port 8080 and NOT 8021.
(Using port 8021 will require an ActiveX plug-in to be installed which are not supported by Apple Mac browsers)

When connecting the LILIN Viewer app to a the LILIN Navigator software you will only require one port opening in the firewall.

Remove Navigator local motion detection lines from camera image

If you are using local motion detection on the LILIN Navigator software and are seeing yellow lines highlighting the motion area’s that have been set. If you do not want these lines viable, they can be disabled using the information below.

To disable the visible motion detection area’s you will need to:

1) Close all open instances of the Navigator software.

2) Enter the Windows Registry on the PC with the Navigator software installed.

3) Navigator to the following area in the Windows registry

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CMSNVR_64BIT\BootSetting

4) Right click and select ‘New’ then DWORD (32-bit) Value

5) Name the new DWORD Value as:

DrawOSDObj

6) To enable and disable the motion detection lines change the Value of the new entry (by double clicking the item) from 0 to 1

If the Value is set to ‘0’ then the motion lines should not be displayed, if the value is changed to ‘1’ then the lines will be displayed again.

Older LILIN Cameras not working on Navigator 2.x.x.x

If you are having issues with any older model of LILIN IP camera not working correctly in the newer versions of the LILIN Navigator software, you may need to adjust the device type under the relevant camera settings screen.

This issue may be present when using the following:

D1 IP Cameras

720P IP Cameras

1.3MP IP Cameras

By default the Navigator software will try to connect to a camera using the device type of ‘RTSP’. You may find that the Navigator software connects to the camera but never shows video.

If this is the case select the device type as:

***Additional Note***

Changing any settings on this page or clicking detect or Video could cause the device type to be switched back to ‘RTSP’ if this is the case, manually adjust it back to ‘IP Fast Dome’ and select OK at the bottom of the screen, this will then save the selection.

IP Camera Output Alarm latching using the LILIN Navigator software

It is possible to set the digital output buttons to latch open so one press will activate the digital output for a set duration of time specified in the menu. This option can be adjusted on a per camera basis.

Simply select the camera you want to adjust the alarm output time for and right click on that channel and select ‘Advance Alarm DO’.

Now adjust the ‘Alarm Output Interval’ value to the amount of time you would like the DO to latch for.

Now you should be able to trigger the DO using the ON alarm button and the alarm output should stay on as set.

How to change the language used by the Navigator software

There are 2 ways to change the language used by the LILIN Navigator software.

1.Select the language from the language selection box when the Navigator software is run for the first time.

2.Manual adjust the language from the Navigator software ‘System Settings’ area. Select the ‘Cog’ icon from the menu bar on the right, then adjust the language in the pop-up window.

Navigator Software Remote Playback Issue / Incorrect time on playback

If you are experiencing remote playback issues when using the LILIN Navigator software with either remote installations of the full Navigator software or the Navigator client software, please check the following:

Check that both the Navigator server and all clients connecting to the server are all set to be in the same time zone.

The time zone on the server can be checked with the remote playback feature on the LILIN Navigator software

The time zone on the client machine should be checked using Windows

Please close all open instances of the Navigator software or Navigator client software and adjust the time zone to the correct zone using windows and then open the navigator software.

Navigator Error – mfc100u.dll is missing Email.exe – System Error

Navigator End Playback Error Message

If you are attempting to playback recorded footage from the Navigator software but are only getting the message ‘End Playback’ and never get any video play. The cause of this is that the channels that have been backed up are higher than the current amount of channels displayed on screen.

In the example below we have backed up channels 21 – 24 from a Navigator system with 36 channels connected.

When we open the playback software you must ensure you select a division with more than 24 channels. If you do not you will see the error message shown below. As you can see the screen below only has a 16 division so channels 21 – 24 will not play.

As you can see, if we select a view with more than 24 channels we will get the video playing back as expected. As you can see the screen below has a 36 division so this will allow playback of channels 21 – 24.

Smart Search Example Video

Attached below is an example video showing the Smart Search feature in the LILIN Navigator software.

The Smart Search feature can review historically recorded video (single channel only) and log any motion in a specific area highlighted on screen and presents a snap shot so this information can be reviewed in more detail saving time for the CCTV operator looking for a particular event over a possible large and sometimes unknown period of time.

In the video attached below the Smart Search feature is being used to see when a person passed through the view of the camera indicating that a person entered a restricted area at a specific time. These instances are then displayed as snapshots in the bar on the right hand side for later review.

What are the different backup options when using LILIN Navigator with locally recorded video

Below is a screenshot and brief description showing the different back up options available when backing up video footage that has been recorded locally to the LILIN Navigator software. Please note, these options are different when using the ‘Remote DVR/NVR Playback’ option in Navigator.

The following options available are:

1) LILIN’s Proprietary backup files. (Always ensure the ‘Copy Mplayer’ option is ticked before proceeding with the backup)

This is the recommended backup type to use. Once downloaded these files are locked so they can not be edited or manipulated in any way. These files are also fully time and date stamped. Multiple backups of different channels can be placed in the same folder location and the MPlayer software will index these files and play them back concurrently on one screen with an option to put each channel in full screen, all dates backed up are also displayed in a handy calendar. AVI files can also be created subsequently if this backup file type is used. This is also the quickest backup method.

2) These files are standard AVI files. Individual files are created for each channel backed up. Each channel can only be played back one at a time using a PC/Mac based program capable of playing AVI files (VLC is the recommended software for playback). These are standard AVI files and can be edited using video editing software. Time and date stamps are not included on the backed up video however the file name is named with the backup time and date for quick reference.

3) These are also standard AVI files, the quality of the output file can be adjusted. These files include a time stamp.

LILIN Navigator with ANPR configured but no ANPR data shown in logs

If you are using the LILIN Navigator software and have installed the ANPR software correctly you must ensure you have configured the ‘Alarm Management’ correctly within the Navigator software.

Within the alarm management’s ‘Alarm Input’ section you will see an ‘ANPR Detection’ check box, ensure this is checked, you will also need to ensure something is also checked in the ‘Alarm Output’ section.

.

Failure to check an alarm output trigger will result in the ANPR not logging any information in the event/data log, however you will still get the motion alarm trigger displayed on the camera image. It is recommended to select the ‘Pre-alarm Record’ and ‘Post alarm Record’.

Flashing borders around camera’s in multiscreen view within the LILIN Navigator software

This issue is usually caused by the PC not having a dedicated video card installed. To stop the flashing it is recommended to turn off graphics hardware acceleration within the software’s ‘System Settings’ options.

To do this click the ‘Cog’ icon in the bar on the right side of the Navigator software’s main screen. Once the pop up box opens, tick the ‘Turn off graphics hardware acceleration’ option.

Navigator Software Database Restore Guide

To restore from a backup of a Navigator database follow the guide below:

Click ‘Start’ select ‘All Programs’ then select ‘LILIN Navigator’. Under this category select ‘Database Manager’.

Once Database Manager has opened, log in using the Navigator administrator details

Once logged in click the import icon    

Now select the cmxdatabase.xml file that was saved to a safe location when the export process was performed.

This completes the database restore process.

Navigator Software Database Backup Guide

To back up a copy of the LILIN Navigator database follow the guide below:

LILIN Navigator Software with Keyboard Control

The LILIN PIH-931D keyboard is designed to work with the LILIN Navigator software.

In order to utilise the PIH-931D keyboard with the Navigator software you will most likely require a USB to RS485 convertor or a USB to RS232 convertor and then an RS232 to RS485 convertor. This will allow you to add an RS485 device to your PC.

Does Navigator include a snapshot in an alarm notification email

Yes, LILIN’s Navigator software does include a snapshot image in an alarm notification email.

***Additional Note***

If you are using Gmail as your email provider you may not receive a snapshot image. Other email services are not effected.

What does the Navigator Software Circular Recording value do?

The value set in the LILIN Navigator software ‘Circular Record’ option is the amount of hard disk drive space LILIN Navigator will NOT use on the selected recording destination HDD.

(This value can be set independently per destination HDD within the LILIN Navigator software ‘System Settings’)

In the example above the Circular Record value is set to 6GB. This means Navigator will leave 6GB of HDD space on the selected D: drive before recycling its recording through the HDD.

So as an example, if you have a 2TB HDD and only want to assign half of it for CCTV recordings, rather than partition the disk in 2 halves you can simply set the Navigator Circular Record value to 1000GB. This will allow the Navigator software to only use approximately half of your HDD. This value can be adjusted at any point.

***Additional Note***

We do not recommend setting the Circular Record value lower than the original default value set by the LILIN Navigator software. Windows requires a certain amount of available HDD space for hidden, system and temporary files, setting this value too low may result in Windows OS problems or other issues.

What make of video card do LILIN recommend to use with the Navigator software

LILIN recommend using nVidia graphics cards in PC’s running the LILIN navigator software.

What is RAID and what are the different RAID levels

RAID stands for Redundant Array of Individual Disks. For a full explanation check the Wikipedia page here.

There many different levels of RAID and the descriptions below cover the RAID levels most commonly used by LILIN Servers and =.
.

RAID 0

RAID 0 is the RAID level usually used for speed and performance when reading and writing to HDD’s. This RAID level does not offer any redundancy usually associated with RAID, if anything it removes redundancy completely from the system. Data being saved to the systems HDD’s is split across multiple HDD’s allowing the system to write and read from multiple drives giving faster read and write times to the system. If one HDD fails within the system, you will lose all the data on all the HDD’s.

RAID 1

RAID 1 is a mirror configuration. This level of RAID offers a high level of redundancy but is not a very efficient and cost effective use of HDD storage. Each single HDD must have a counterpart HDD installed and data is written to both HDD’s simultaneously. If one HDD fails a replacement HDD can be fitted and the data will be copied from the remaining working HDD to the new HDD to bring the redundancy feature back to the unit.

RAID 5

RAID 5 offers both redundancy and a cost effective level of storage. In a RAID 5 configuration you must use at least 3 HDD’s, however the system will only see 2 HDD’s as visible storage, the other HDD is used as a parity HDD allowing for 1 disk failure within the system.

If a HDD fails in a RAID 5 configuration this HDD must be swapped for a working HDD of the same size as the original HDD. The unit will then offer the ability to restore the information on the failed HDD using the information on the remaining HDD’s. With RAID 5 if you experience 2 HDD failures concurrently you will lose all the information across all the active HDD’s.

RAID 5 + Spare

This configuration must use at least 4 HDD’s. RAID 5 + Spare will still only give the visible storage of 2 HDD’s as the 3rd HDD is still a parity drive, however the 4th HDD is kept as a spare. If a HDD failure is detected the spare HDD will automatically kick in and the unit will automatically recover the data using the 2 remains HDD’s and the spare. It is then advisable to swap the failed HDD for a new disk. This will then become the spare HDD for any future HDD failure. RAID 5 + Spare will offer the best redundancy when using the NVR1400 & NVR2400 units.

RAID 6

RAID 6 offers a more resilient redundancy than RAID 5. In a RAID 6 configuration you must use at least 4 HDD’s, however the system will only see 2 HDD’s as visible storage. The other HDD’s are used as parity HDD’s allowing for 1 disk failure within the system. If a HDD fails in a RAID 6 configuration this HDD must be swapped for a working HDD of the same size as the original HDD. The unit will then offer the ability to restore the information on the failed HDD using the information on the remaining HDD’s. With RAID 6 if you experience 2 HDD failures concurrently you will lose all the information across all the active HDD’s.

RAID 6 offers more advantages over RAID 5 when a drive failure occurs. RAID 6 has 2 parity HDD’s to recover the failed HDD information from rather than just 1. The issue with having only 1 parity hdd to rebuild a failed HDD from is that if the remaining parity HDD has an issue E.G. a bad sector, this can compromise the rebuild ability of the failed HDD meaning this may not be possible. This in turn means the entire RAID array will need to be rebuilt meaning all information could be lost unless the surviving information is archived to a different location until the RAID array is reconfigured.

LILIN Navigator slow playback but live video shows at the correct speed

If you are experiencing slow playback when using the LILIN Navigator IP recording solution, check the following settings:

Once playback has started, click the ‘Cog’ icon at the bottom of the playback screen.

Next, untick the ‘CMX I Frame Only’ & ‘I Frame Only’ check box, then click ‘OK’.

This should revert the playback speed of the recorded video back to the original recorded speed.

Yes, the LILIN Navigator software supports the full range of LILIN products from D1 resolution IP cameras and the D1 analogue H.264 DVR’s.

The supported DVR’s are from the DVR 3 & 5 series and above.

Does LILIN Navigator support 120 frame per second camera’s

Yes, the LILIN Navigator software supports ALL camera’s release by LILIN. This includes the 120 FPS and 4K (UHD) range of camera’s.

LILIN Navigator will also support a full back catalogue of LILIN products including D1 IP camera’s and H.264 DVR’s.

Does LILIN Navigator support 4K (UHD) resolution camera’s

Yes, the LILIN Navigator supports ALL camera’s release by LILIN. This includes the 4K (UHD) and 120 FPS range of camera’s.

Does LILIN Navigator work with 3rd party IP camera’s or just LILIN IP camera’s

The LILIN Navigator recording solution now supports a range of 3rd party ONVIF compliant camera’s.

To use 3rd party ONVIF compliant camera’s you will need to purchase an upgrade to the existing Navigator licence. This is achieved in the form of an ONVIF compliant camera licence which are purchased on a 4 channel basis. A specific unlocking key will be issues to unlock the ONVIF support feature.

What is the maximum amout of camera’s Navigator can remotely playback at simultaneously

The remote playback on the LILIN Navigator software can only be preformed in a maximum of 36 channels simultaneously. These groups are defined by the 36 channel ‘Groups’ the cameras are added to when first configuring and installing the LILIN Navigator software.

To allow different camera’s from different groups to be played back together further groups will need to be created including all the desired camera’s required for playback.

FLIR PC-NVR turns the computer into an NVR and will use your hard disk drive (HDD) on your PC to store recorded video.

IMPORTANT: If you install PC-NVR and want to remove it afterwards, you must uninstall FLIR Cloud Client software entirely and re-install it with the PC-NVR option not selected. Uninstalling FLIR Cloud Client will require the administrator password. If you do not have this password, you must contact technical support for assistance in recovering your password.

The following instructions require you to access your system using the FLIR Cloud Client software and a PC.

REMINDER: FLIR PC-NVR can be installed while installing FLIR Cloud Client. However, if it is not initially installed, FLIR Cloud will need to be uninstalled and re-installed to install FLIR PC-NVR at a later date.

Prerequisites:

To add a channel from the DVR / NVR in FLIR PC-NVR:

1.Launch FLIR Cloud Client software on your computer, then click PC-NVR.

2.Click the Plus icon () to open the Add Channel window.

3.Enter the device ID or IP address of the system you want to add.

4.Select the channel you want to add using the checkbox, then click Import.

Once you have added the channel, you can configure your hard disk drive (HDD) settings for your PC.

FLIR Cloud PC-NVR installation and setup

You can set a recording schedule for each connected camera in FLIR PC-NVR.

To set a recording schedule for a camera:

Your PC-NVR will behave as a virtual NVR system and save your recorded video to your PC. FLIR PC-NVR shows in the Device list and behaves like any other DVR / NVR system in the FLIR Cloud Client software.

Your LHV / LNR Series DVR / NVR system can be manually added to the FLIR Cloud Client software by entering the system IP address.

Prerequisites:

To manually add the LHV / LNR Series DVR / NVR using an IP address:

1.Launch FLIR Cloud Client software on your computer to open the Login window.

2.Enter your login information. Refer to your user manual for your default Username and Password.

3.Click Login to open the Home window.

4.Click the Devices icon () to open the Devices tab.

5.Click Manual Add on the bottom-left corner to open the Manual Add window.

6.In the Manual Add window, enter the following information:

◦ Device Name: Enter the Device Name of your choice to identify the DVR / NVR.

◦ IP/Domain Name: Ensure the IP/Domain checkbox is checked to enable connection using the IP address. Enter the IP address of the DVR / NVR.

◦ Client Port: Enter the Client Port value (default: 35000).

◦ User Name: Enter the DVR / NVR User Name.

◦ Password: Enter the DVR / NVR Password.

7.Click Add to connect the DVR / NVR. The connection may take a few minutes.

Configure Surveillance Station for webcam recording

1. Connect a USB webcam

Connect a USB webcam to a USB port on the Turbo NAS. If the webcam is supported, it will be listed as a log showing a generic UVC camera in “Control Panel” > “System Settings” > “System Logs” on the NAS.

2. Install the QUSBCam QPKG from App Center (either Automatically or Manually)

Automatic installation: Install the QPKG from “App Center” > “Surveillance” > “QUSBCam” of the NAS.

Manual installation: Download the QUSBCam QPKG from the App Center on the QNAP website. Then you can install it by clicking the “Install Manually” button and by selecting the location of the QUSBCam QPKG to start installing.

3. Configure webcam in QUSBCam

First, open “QUSBCam”.

After you have added the USB webcam camera to your Turbo NAS, go to the “Monitor” page. If it is your first time accessing this page in your web browser, you will have to install an ActiveX control (QMon.cab) before using Monitor or Playback functions. Please follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. You can use Surveillance Station in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Play Video Files from Surveillance Station

Click or to enter the playback page and follow the steps below to play video files on the remote Surveillance Station.

1. Drag and drop camera(s) from the server/camera tree to the respective playback window(s) to select the channel(s) for playback.

2. Select a playback date using  You can examine each channel to discover the time range when files were recorded using each camera. Blue cells indicate regular recording files. If it is blank, it means that no files were recorded at that time.

3. Click to begin playback. You can control the speed and playback direction by dragging the buttonto left or right of the shuttle bar.

4. Specify the time to play back the recording files. You can view a preview image on the timeline bar to search for the moment you want to play.

5. Click to control all the playback windows to play back the recording files. When this function is enabled, the playback options (play, pause, stop, previous/next frame, previous/next file, speed adjustment) will be applied to all of the playback windows.

How to View a Live Stream on QUSBCam2

1.Install USB Camera
After connecting the USB camera to the NAS, the USB camera appears on the USB Device page.

2.Set as channel
After installing the USB camera, go to Channel List and click “Create Channel” to create a QUSBCam2 channel.

Set the channel name and video or audio configuration.
Note: Only MJPEG format supports the live function.

3.Check the Channel List
Go to Channel List and check if the thumbnail image of the USB camera is available. If you see the  live button, it means that the camera supports the live function.

Configure Surveillance Station for Webcam Recording

Go to “Surveillance Station” > “Camera Configuration” and then click “Add”. Select “Search camera(s) automatically” and then click “Next”.

For Search type, select “ONVIF” and then select the QUSBCam2 camera. Click “OK”.

NOTE: Just because a device is ONVIF compliant does not mean all features/functions (i.e. motion) will be supported. See this link: https://www.onvif.org/conformant-products/ and filter it by CoStar Technologies and then look at the respective model. For example, the AV5255PMIR-SH (MegaDome 2 Series) is ONVIF Profile S compliant. Per the ONVIF Profile Feature Overview motion is not supported in Profile S. If motion is required, the camera must support motion detection and the Arecont Driver must be used when adding the camera to the VMS.

Resolution:

Verify camera functionality.

1. Verify the camera Web UI is accessible and that you can see live video in the browser.
2. Verify you can view the RTSP stream from the same computer the VMS software is installed on.
   • How to connect to RTSP streams on Arecont cameras
   • How to connect to RTSP streams on Contera cameras
3. Verify you can see the live stream of the camera using ONVIF Device Manager
4. Do not troubleshoot any VMS problem until the above steps pass.

VMS Guidelines:

1. Check with the VMS manufacturer if the camera requires a specific firmware version.
   • Information on any matrix they provide may be outdated and only show firmware they have had time to certify. There will typically be newer firmware on the Arecont Vision website which resolves camera issues we have identified and resolved.
   • NOTE: Downgrading camera firmware is not always possible in the field once you are at a particular revision. It will require the camera to be sent in as an RMA to be reflashed to the required version.
2. If there is an issue when the camera is added to the VMS with the Arecont driver, attempt the below:
   • Remove the camera from the VMS.
   • Re-add it using the ONVIF or RTSP option.
   • If it is successful, the Arecont driver they provided is out of date.
3. If there is an issue when the camera is added to the VMS with the ONVIF driver, attempt the below:
   • Remove the camera from the VMS.
   • Re-add it using the Arecont Driver if available or RTSP option.
   • If it is successful, verify the camera datasheet states the camera is ONVIF compliant.
4. Check the VMS manufacturer for a software update.

Troubleshooting VMS integrations with ONVIF Device Manager

Issue:

A problem is seen in a particular model connected to the Video Management System.

Resolution:

1. Verify both the camera and VMS are at the latest software revisions.
2. A third-party tool called ONVIF Device Manager (ODM) (https://sourceforge.net/projects/onvifdm/) will be installed on the VMS. This tool will be used to identify if the issue is camera or VMS related.
3. Install ODM and launch the program. It will begin auto discovering cameras. If your camera is not populated you can manually add it on the lower left.

   

4. Enter the username (admin) and the password for the camera.

   

5. Once logged in, select the camera. There are links to view the live video from each sensor(s) depending on the camera model.

2. You will need to use VLC to open a network stream (Media > Open Network Stream). Download VLC from HERE.
3. Log in to the camera web page and click Video & Audio. Confirm your stream settings for the Main, Sub Stream, and MJPEG streams are set to what you want.

Exacq: Contera Onvif Driver Integration

Issue:

• Contera cameras will be stuck on “Connecting”.
• Customers using Contera series cameras may be requested by Exacq technical support to downgrade the firmware to an older release.
  Downgrading is NOT required as you should be on the latest camera firmware release.

Contera series cameras MUST be added using the ONVIF driver. Attempting to add the camera using the auto discovery method uses the Arecont Vision driver and will not work.

1. Click New.
2. Select ONVIF from the drop-down.
3. Provide the IP address of the camera.
4. Provide the username and password.
5. Click Apply.

   

6. Click on the camera from the navigation tree on the left. You should see 4 inputs for multisensor cameras. In the example below, it’s an AV20476DN running firmware 65412.

1. Launch SmartPSS and select ‘Tour & Task’.

2. On the Tour & Task window click ‘+ Add’. Enter a name for the plan then press Enter.

3. Click the + to create a new Task Plan.

4. The Task Editor window will open.

• Enter a Task Name¹ and Task Time² (in seconds).
• Select from the pre-configured layouts or create your own³

5. To add video to the layout there are several options:

Drag & Drop

• Use the Device tree on the left to click on a device then drag and drop it onto the layout. If the device has multiple streams (ex: DVR or NVR) all streams from the device will auto populate the grid layout.

• Once a device is added it will appear in the Task List

• You can also drag and drop additional video sources into a window to create a sequence within the selected pane. The grid will update with the number of video sources that are added to the selected pane.

Bind

• Select the video pane in the grid (outlined in white) then right click the device you wish to add from the Device Tree on the left hand side of the screen. Click ‘Bind IPC’ to add the video to the selected window.

• For supported devices with multiple video streams (ex: DVR, NVR) you have additional options when right clicking the device:

Bind All Cameras – Auto populates the grid layout from the selected device

Bind Multiplay Stream – Creates a video layout within the selected pane of all connected cameras from the device

6. After adding the desired video sources to the task you can use the Task List window to edit each individual window’s settings.

Select the video pane in the grid (outlined in white) and the programmed objects and events for this window will appear in the Task List. Each field can be edited by double clicking in the menu

• Preset point: Allows the user to select a preset point for supported cameras such as PTZ – SmartPSS/How To Use PTZ Preset in SmartPSS

• Stay Time: Time (in seconds) for video . Click the ‘Pencil’ icon at the top of the list to change the value for the entire list.
• Stream Type: Select which video stream: Main Stream, Sub Stream1, etc. Click the ‘Pencil’ icon at the top of the list to change the value for the entire list.
• Operation: Use the icons to Preview the stream, move the event up or down in the list order, or delete the event.

7. Once the Task has been programmed click Save to save your work and return to the Tour Window and the new Task should appear in the window.

8. Continue creating tasks using the Task Editor to build a series of tasks for this tour to run. Drag and drop the tasks to change the order. Click the ‘Pencil’ icon to edit the Task or the ‘Trash’ icon to delete the Task.

9. Once the Tour has been programmed you can now enable/begin your created tours: SmartPSS/How To Enable Task

10. The tour will continue to run until ‘Stop Tour’ is clicked.

Manual Tour

1. Launch SmartPSS.

2. Click ‘Live View’

3. Use the drop down box to select the Tour, then click ‘Start Tour’

4. The tour will continue to run until ‘Stop Tour’ is clicked.

Schedule Tour

1. Launch SmartPSS and select ‘Tour & Task’.

2. Click ‘Scheduled Tour Setting’ to open the menu

3. Use the menu to configure the schedule.

• Device Type¹ – Select from a single day or a week schedule option
• Task Plan² – Task the schedule is being created for
• Start/End Time³ – Enter a Start Time and End Time for the schedule.

For Week Plan options, Use the tabs above the table to select which day to add the schedule to.

Click ‘Add’ to add the time to the schedule.

Click ‘Save’ once you have completed the schedule.

4. Return to Live View, then click to toggle ‘Scheduled Tour’ in the lower portion of the screen to enable the Scheduled Tour Setting. The Scheduled Tour will continue to operate according to the programmed scheduled until it is disabled or the software is closed.

1. Launch SmartPSS.

2. Click ‘Playback’

3. The Playback window will open

Use the Device Tree on the left to select the device you wish to export from.

You can configure the parameters of the search using the drop down box:

• Record Type
• Stream Type – Main Stream, Sub Stream
• Time

Click ‘Search’ to begin a search based on the parameters.

4. Once the Search is complete recorded footage will appear in the timeline. Press the ‘Play’ icon to begin playback.

5. Use the Playback tools to navigate to a starting point for the clip. You can use the playback buttons below the timeline or drag the timeline scrubber

6. Click the Time Clip icon to select a start point.

7. Once clicked, a draggable window will appear in the timeline. Use this tool to select the length of the clip to export. The window will show you the Start and Time time of the clip as well as the Duration.

8. Click the Time Clip icon again to select an end point

9. The Export Setup menu will appear.

The menu gives several options for export:

• Path: Click browse to select a file location to save the exported footage
• Export Format: Select which video format for the clip (ASF, AVI, MP4, or Original Format)
• Export SmartPlayer Player: Check the box to include the playback software with the export

Once the export settings have been configured, click Ok to begin Export.

10. The Export Progress window will appear.

This window will give you a live update of the export process.

You can Pause, Start, or Delete exports in progress by using the icons at the top of the screen

11. Once the Export is complete, it will appear in the ‘Exported’ tab

Click the Folder icon to open the directory the file was exported to

Click ‘Search’ to begin a search based on the parameters.

4. Once the search is complete the first image will be loaded in the center screen.

• Use the buttons labeled “Back” and “Next” to navigate through the recorded images.

• Autoplay – Toggle Autoplay to begin an automatic slideshow of all images. You can adjust the sequence delay using the drop down box (1-3 seconds).

• Click the Full Screen icon to make SmartPSS full screen

5. Click the Floating Bar on the right hand side of the screen to open the Picture Export menu

This menu shows all recorded images from the requested time period/device in a list.

Click an entry in the list to load the image in the center window.

6. Use the checkbox next to the picture to select it for export. You can also click the Checkbox icon above the list to select all pictures in the list at once.

7. Once the pictures for export have been selected, click the Export icon to open the Export Menu

8. Use the Export Menu to define the parameters of the picture export

• Path: Directory to save exported picture
• Export Format: –
• Export SmartPlayer Player: –

Click OK to begin Export

9. The Export Progress menu will appear. This menu will give you live progress for the export process.

Creating a Role

1. Launch SmartPSS.

• Menu Rights: Use the checkbox to select which menu rights you wish to allow for this role
• Channel Rights: Specific per device user rights can be set to the role for already added devices

After filling out the parameters for the role, click Save

Creating a User

1. Click User

2. Click ‘Add User’

3. The User Info menu will appear. Use the fields to enter the parameters of the role:

• User Name: Name for the role. This name must be unique
• Role: Use the drop-down box to select the Role for this user
• Password: Enter a password for the user and confirm. The 3 bar meter next to the field will denote the password complexity
• Remark: Description of user for reference

1. Launch SmartPSS.

2. Click ‘Event Config’

3. The Event Config menu will appear.

4. Click to select the device you wish to configure from the Device Tree on the left

5. Select the Event Type for this camera

6. Use the tabs on the right to set up the parameters for when the Event is triggered.

The different options will be explained below:

Notify

When the event occurs it can give a notification.

Notification types

Alarm Sound: Play sound at local computer

EMap Twinkle: Twinkle notification on EMap

Send Mail: Send an email

Link Video

When event occurs it can link to a live camera preview or record.

Drag and drop a device from device tree into the grid layout in the center of the screen

Select from the pre-configured layouts or create your own

Alarm Output

When event occurs it can output a signal to trigger an alarm directly on the camera.

Select the device from the device tree

Set Auto Open

Duration: Enter a time for the alarm output (in seconds)

Defence Time

Set a schedule for the Alarm.

The event will be automatically programmed to run at all times, represented by the Green color

In the center of the screen click and drag the mouse to delete or add time

OR you can click the Gear to open a pop up menu to define the parameters of the schedule

Enter a time range for the schedule

Use the checkbox at the bottom to select which day(s) to set the schedule to. You can use ‘Check All’ to set the current schedule to all days

Click OK to set the schedule

7. Once the Event parameters have been configured click ‘Save’ to save the settings, then click the toggle at the top of the page to enable the event.

Once this event is enabled it will begin actively working according to the set parameters.

How To Setup Video Wall In SmartPSS

Description

This article will show you how to setup a video wall in SmartPSS 2.0

Prerequisites

• SmartPSS
• Supported device with video wall feature, such as Decoder
• Device added to SmartPSS Device List – How To Add Device to SmartPSS

Step by Step Instructions

1. Launch SmartPSS.

2. Click Video Wall

3. The device tree on the left will show all devices added to SmartPSS that are compatible with the Video Wall feature.

4. Click the  icon to open the Video Wall Layout Setup menu.

Click the + to create a new layout

The Video Wall Layout Setup menu is where you can define the physical layout of the monitor outputs per device

5. Use the menu buttons below the grid to create the Video Wall Layout.

Start by clicking one of the layout options in the bottom left of the screen (1, 2×2, 3×3, etc.).

Click again in the grid to place the grid.

You can also use the menu on the right to combine or splice screens.

Click Next

7. A device tree will appear on the left.

Drag and drop from the device tree to the grid layout to configure the arrangement for the corresponding monitor outputs for the device

6. Click Finish once the Video Layout has been created

In this example, a decoder with 4 Monitor Outputs has been arranged in a 2X2 Layout

7. Use the device tree on the left to drag and drop streams into the Video Wall Layout

Click inside a quadrant and click from one of the layout options to change to one of the available options – 1 , 2X2, 3X3, 4X4

8. The Windows Detail window allows you to change settings for each of the windows – such as Stream Type and Stay Time

9. Once the layout has been configured Click the Save icon 

10. Enter a name for the Plan then Click Save

11. All created Plans will appear in the Plan submenu, click the  icon to view and switch between created Layout Plans.

12. Click Schedule Control Config on the right side of the screen to configure a Scheduled Tour of created Video Wall Layouts

13. Use the Scheme Configuration menu to program the tour

Enter a dwell time (in seconds) Select the created Layout Scheme Then Click Add Plan

14. Click Save once the Scheme has been configured

15. To begin a created scheme click the  icon on the right side of the screen

16. The scheme patrol will begin. To stop click the button in the center of the screen

How To Setup PC-NVR In SmartPSS

Step by Step Instructions

1. Launch SmartPSS.

2. Click PC-NVR

3. Click the toggle switch at the top left of the screen to enable PC-NVR

A splash screen for PC-NVR will appear.

After a few moments PC-NVR will be enabled. You can confirm this by checking the server information at the top and making sure Status is “Online”

Once PC-NVR is enabled you can begin initial configuration.

4. Click HDD Manager to setup the local hard drive to be used for recording.

Click Allocate to begin disk setup.

You will receive a prompt, click OK

5. Use the slider to allocate disk space for recordings or you can manually enter the value. Click ‘Allocate’ once you have entered the disk size

To delete the disk allocation, click the button next to the Hard Drive. Note: Deleting a drive allocation will delete all recording files.

6. Click Channel Management

7. Select the devices you want to add to PC-NVR from the device list then click the >> button. To delete any devices click the << button.

8. Once the device is added a preview will load from each device. Use the checkbox next to each to device to select it, or use the Checkbox at the top to Select All devices. Once the devices have been checked click Save

9. Click Record Plan

10. Use the Record Plan menu to set up a schedule for the device to record. By default the schedule will be set to Regular (Continuous) recording 24/7.

Click the Gear icon to enter the Schedule Menu

11. Enter the parameters of the Schedule, including time range and Recording Type (Regular, Event)

Once finished click Save

12. Once the schedule has been created it can be copied to another device. Click ‘Copy to’ to copy the current schedule to other added devices

13. Select which devices to add the current schedule to then click OK
