Troubleshooting Cloud connection status

If your BlackVue dashcam isn’t maintaining a stable Cloud connection, you may lose access to live viewing, push notifications, remote playback, and GPS tracking. Use this comprehensive troubleshooting guide to quickly restore your camera’s Cloud status and regain all features.

Note: Screenshots in this guide are based on the BlackVue app and may vary slightly depending on your camera model or app.

1. Common symptoms of Cloud connection issues

• Camera status shows “Cloud disconnected” in the app or web dashboard
• Live View or Cloud playback fails to load
• No push/event notifications are received
• GPS/location features and remote commands do not work
• Camera appears offline or missing from your device list

2. Essential system checks

A. Power and Internet connectivity

• Check that the dashcam is powered on and vehicle ignition is ON (if hardwired)
• Confirm the Wi-Fi or LTE SIM card is active and providing internet access
• Wi-Fi: Ensure hotspot or router is working; reconnect if needed
• LTE: Make sure SIM is inserted, has data, and shows network bars

B. Camera and app readiness

• Update to the latest dashcam firmware and app version
• Confirm your Cloud subscription is active and your camera is assigned a valid Cloud slot
• Log out of the app and log back in to refresh device status

3. Step-by-step recovery

1. Check in the app:

• Go to Cameras or My Cameras
• Locate camera status icon:
• Blue/active: Cloud connected
• Grey/disconnected: Problem present

2. Restart devices and connections

• Power cycle the dashcam: Turn off, wait 10 seconds, turn on again
• Restart smartphone/tablet and, if using Wi-Fi, the router/hotspot
• For LTE models, reseat the SIM card and check data signal

3. Verify Wi-Fi or LTE network

• For Wi-Fi cameras:
• Access Camera Settings > Wi-Fi and re-enter SSID/password for your hotspot
• Check if other devices can access the internet using the same network
• For LTE cameras:
• Confirm correct APN settings (Carrier Access Point Name) in the app if prompted
• Replace SIM card or test with another device if no data connection is detected

4. Update camera firmware

• Open the app, find Camera Settings > Firmware Update
• Apply latest recommended version for your model

5. Check subscription and plan status

• Go to Account > Cloud Plan and check expiration, slot count, and assigned devices
• Renew or upgrade your plan if slots are full or expired (especially if you have more than one camera).

6. Remove and re-register your camera

• If the problem persists, remove the camera from your Cloud account and add it again using QR code or serial number registration
• This step refreshes Cloud assignments and often resolves registration glitches

4. Quick reference troubleshooting table

Symptom Solution
“Cloud disconnected” status Check internet, power, and restart both dashcam and network devices
Camera not showing in device list Log out/in, refresh camera list, or re-register camera

Managing Fleeta members and groups

Effectively organizing and controlling members and groups is essential for making the most of BlackVue Fleeta’s fleet management features. This guide outlines adding and removing members, assigning roles, creating groups, and managing permissions in Fleeta.

Understanding roles in Fleeta

Fleeta uses roles to determine what each user can do:

• Owner: Full control; can create/delete groups, invite or remove members, assign roles, and manage cameras.
• Admin: Manages one group and its dashcams; cannot invite or delete other Admins.
• Driver: Assigned to a single dashcam; has limited access to fleet and group management.
Permission Owner Admin Driver
Search/view all members & groups
Invite members (Admin/Driver)
Delete members

Adding members

1.Go to Members:
In the Fleeta web or app interface, select “Members” from the sidebar menu.
2.Invite a member:
• Click + Invite Member.
• Enter the member’s email address.
• Choose a role: Admin or Driver (only Owners can invite Admins).
• Click Send Invite.
3.Invitation process:
• The invited member receives an email and must accept within 3 days.
• Pending status is shown until acceptance.
• Expired invitations must be deleted before re-inviting.

• Assign via checkboxes or search for users/cameras easily.

3.Edit or delete groups:
• To rename or remove a group, use the options on the group’s detail page.
• Deleting a group unassigns but does not delete its members.

Deleting one group

49950430250777 485h

Deleting multiple groups

49950418245273

If a camera or driver is removed from a group, both remain available in the fleet and can be assigned elsewhere.

Handling pending or expired invitations

• Invitations not accepted within 3 days will expire.
• Expired or pending members still occupy a slot—delete them to free up space and resend invitations as needed.

Best practices

• Assign clear roles and group names for easy management.
• Regularly review group membership and reassign or remove users who no longer need access.
• Always delete expired or unaccepted invitations to prevent slot issues.
• For large fleets, use groups to separate teams, vehicles by region, or operational units.

Managing Fleeta members and groups properly ensures secure, organized, and effective oversight of your vehicles and team.
