I forgot the password for my system, how do I reset it?

As you will see below, it is recommended to always know the date of the device.

• From the account, select the key icon on the corresponding device.
• Fill in the current date of the device and click “Acquire”. After a few moments an email will arrive at the indicated email account with a 6-digit code.
• Enter the code and click on “Generate Password”.
• A password valid only for this day will be generated automatically.
• Access the device with the password and reset a known password.

If the device is not linked to an EZCloud account, request a reset from Visiotech technical support by attaching the serial number. This can be found using the EZTools software:

IMPORTANT: you must make sure of the date indicated on the camera, because only the master password will be valid for that same date, being a temporary password.

Prerequisites

• Dahua Recorder with new GUI
• Dahua Camera

Step by Step Instructions

1. On the main menu go to Management

2. Click on Camera

3. Under Camera select “Video Detect” to enter the Motion Detect settings and enable the functions for your application

4. Click on “Settings” next to region to modify hot spots.

Note-Colored boxes detect motion, transparent boxes do not detect motion

5. Click on “More Settings” to open up the rest of the options for Motion Detect

6. After configuring the settings, check “Enable MD” to enable motion detect and save the configurations by clicking on “Save”

7. We need to setup a schedule now so go to “Management” and click on “Storage”

8. Select the channel you are working with and go to settings

9. For this example we are doing Motion recording only for everyday of the week, so we disabled General recording and only kept Motion

10. After setting up a schedule make sure you save any changes. Next go to “Record”

• Note– Clicking to “Copy” will allow you copy the current settings to other channels

11. Make sure the channel(s) you are working with are set to “Auto” for the streams you want to enable. After doing so, exit the “Storage” tab.

12. Go to “Video”

13. You can now check recording for motion. It will be indicated with yellow bars

Change your recorder’s account password

Note: The recorder’s account password can only be changed by the device owner. Shared users cannot change the password.

1. Open your Lorex Home app.

2. Tap on your recorder’s device settings (•••) icon, then in the next screen tap on it again.

3. Tap on your recorder’s device name.

4. Tap Device Password.
5. Enter your current password in the Old Password field, then enter your New Password.

Note: Passwords for the system must be a minimum of 8 characters, and must include at least 2 of the following character types: lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and special characters.

6. Tap Save.

You can now use your new account password to login to your recorder.

Reset your recorder’s account password

Note: The recorder’s account password can only be reset by the device owner. Shared users cannot reset the password.

1. Open your Lorex Home app.

2. Tap on your recorder’s device settings (•••) icon, then in the next screen tap on it again.

3. Tap on your recorder’s device name.

4. Tap Device Password.

5. Tap Forgot device password.

6. Enter the email address associated with your account, then tap Send Reset Instructions.
7. Get the temporary password from your email.
8. Enter the temporary password in the Old Password field, then enter your New Password.

Note: Passwords for the system must be a minimum of 8 characters, and must include at least 2 of the following character types: lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and special characters.

9. Tap Save.

You can now use your new account password to login to your recorder.

Change your recorder’s account password from the system

Note: The recorder’s account password can only be changed by the device owner. Shared users cannot change the password.

1. Login to your recorder using the system username (default: admin) and your current password.

2. From the Live View display, right-click to open the Quick Menu, then click Main Menu.
3. Click ACCOUNT, then click the User tab on the side panel.

4. Under the admin username, click the pencil icon to Edit.
5. Configure the following settings:

• Modify Password: Click to enable changing the password for the system.
• Old Password: Enter your current password.
• New Password: Enter your new, secure password.

Note: Passwords for the system must be a minimum of 8 characters, and must include at least 2 of the following character types: lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and special characters.

• Confirm Password: Re-enter your new, secure password.

6. Click OK to save your changes.

You can now use your new account password to login to your recorder.

Reset your recorder’s account password from the system

Note: The recorder’s account password can only be reset by the device owner. Shared users cannot reset the password.

1. Open your Lorex Home app.

2. Tap on your recorder’s device settings (•••) icon, then in the next screen tap on it again.

3. Tap on your recorder’s device name.

4. Tap Device Password.

5. Tap Forgot device password.

6. Enter the email address associated with your account, then tap Send Reset Instructions.
7. Get the temporary password from your email.
8. Login to your recorder using the system username (default: admin) and your temporary password.

9. From the Live View display, right-click to open the Quick Menu, then click Main Menu.
10. Click ACCOUNT, then click the User tab on the side panel.

11. Under the admin username, click the pencil icon to Edit.
12. Configure the following settings:

• Modify Password: Click to enable resetting the password for the system.
• Old Password: Enter the temporary password.
• New Password: Enter your new, secure password.

Note: Passwords for the system must be a minimum of 8 characters, and must include at least 2 of the following character types: lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and special characters.

• Confirm Password: Re-enter your new, secure password.

13. Click OK to save your changes.

You can now use your new account password to login to your recorder.

If you forgot your device password and are logged into the DVR / NVR with your Night Owl Protect account credentials, you can easily reset your password from the app. To do so:

1. Open the Night Owl Protect App on your Smart Device.
2. Tap “Forgot your password?” on the Sign In screen.
3. Retrieve the temporary code sent to the email address registered to your Night Owl Protect Account.
4. Enter the temporary code.
5. Create a new password and verify it.
6. Tap “Save Password.”
7. You can now log into your DVR / NVR with the updated password.

Option 2 – Reset Your Password Using Our Secure Web Portal

If you do NOT have your DVR / NVR connected to the Internet and do NOT wish to use the app, you can use our secure password reset portal. To do so:

1. Click “Forgot password” on the DVR / NVR Login screen.
2. Go to NightOwlSP.com/NOProtect
3. Create an account or log in.
4. Register your device if you have not already done so.
5. Click on “View Details.”
6. On the Device Details page, click on “Reset Code.”
7. Follow the provided instructions to reset your password.

Here are the steps for you:

1. Input a wrong password so that the system displays a window with an error message.

   
   

2. Please use the mouse click on this window, use your mouse interchangeably” left click”–“right-click”–“left click”–“right-click”—“left click”–“right-click”… Please do this at least 12 times.

   

3. Then it will pop up another window, “Restore default user“, click “YES” to restore the system so that password comes back to default one. The default password is nothing, it means you don’t need to input anything, just click “OK” to log in the system.

Purpose: For the new version system, if you have reserved an email to reset the password, you can follow the instructions below to reset the password for your system.

Step 1: When you forget the password but confirm that you have set up the email for the password. Go to the login interface, and click the “Forgot My Pattern” or “Forgot Password” to get to the password reset page.

Step 2: Then you can get this “Verify by Reserved Email“.

Please check whether or not the email address shown on this page is your email address, if yes, you can follow the instructions to reset the password via this email.

Step 3: Download the APP “Annke Vision” and register your own account and login in. Click “Add device” and choose “Scan QR code”. Scan the Code on the “Verify by reserved email”. Then it will send an email to this email address, input the verification code you received on the page of “Verify by reserved email”, and click OK to reset the password.

Note: If you can’t find the email under your mailbox, please also check the junk box, sometimes it will be saved under the junk box of the email.

For this system, there will be some optional way to reset the password, please kindly find which way is suitable for you.

Here are the methods to reset the password.

1. Please contact technical support to get the general super password according to the system date displayed on your monitor.

2. Can you see a “?” on the login page,? If yes, please refer to this link to find the key number and send it to technical support, and then please don’t turn off your DVR.
After technical support gets your code, the agent will generate a super password for you.

3. Can you see a small QR code after you input the wrong password 5 times? If yes, please click it and make it enlarge, and then please send the full and clear picture of this QR code to the technical support. After the technical support gets your picture, the agent will generate a super password for you.

4. If the above method all not suitable for your case, please kindly note that can you see some prompt messages on your login page, such as
“System maintenance, please contact the installer, SN: XXXXXXXX“. If it is in this case, please kindly send us a clear picture of this prompt message window, and then please inform us of the system date displayed on your monitor. After we get your pictures, we will inform you how to do it for the next step.

Steps:

1. A picture of the device label, which can be found at the bottom of the device.

2. A picture of the system date that is shown on TV or monitor.

3. A picture of the serial number that is shown on the monitor or TV.

Please refer to the instructions below to find the serial number.

If the system doesn‘t pop up the serial number but pop up a date, please send a picture of the system date to technical support.

After we get all the information, we will provide you the security codes to reset the admin password.
