2. Connect your device to a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
3. Unpack your Wyze Cam v3 box, removing all plastic and packing materials.
4. Plug the camera into power using the included USB cable and power adapter.
   • The camera’s status light will turn solid red when powered. When flashing, it’s ready for setup.

To set up your Wyze Cam v3:

1. In the Wyze app, tap Home, then tap + plus sign on the top left.
2. Tap Add Device.
3. Tap Cameras > Wyze Cam v3.
4. With your camera plugged into an outlet, tap Next in the app.
5. Pull the base from your camera and single-press SETUP under the camera. It will say “Ready to connect”
6. In the app, check the box next to “I heard, “Ready to connect”.”
7. Tap Next.
8. Select your 2.4GHz WiFi network and enter your network password. Tap Next.
   • Tap the icon in the password field to display the password to ensure it was entered correctly.
9. Scan the QR code on the Wyze app.
   • Hold your camera up to your phone screen with the QR code displaying. It will say “QR code scanned please wait.” then “Setup completed.”
10. In the app, check the box next to “I heard, “QR code scanned”.”
11. Tap Next. You’re set up, it’s time to name your device.
12. Name your Wyze Cam v3 using the text field, or by choosing a suggestion.
13. Tap Finish when done.
14. If you want to share your device, tap Share Device.
    • If not, tap Maybe later.

Additional Notes:

• Wyze devices only work on 2.4GHz WiFi networks. If you are connected to a 5GHz network, switch to a 2.4GHz network before setting up your device.
• Having trouble scanning your QR code? A few tips to help:
  
  • Hold your camera 6-10 inches away from your phone screen.
  • Slowly move the on the screen away from the camera, then closer.
  • Tilt your phone screen slightly in case there’s a glare.
  • Turn your phone upside down.
  • If you’re on iOS, turn off “Invert Colors”.
  • Make sure the QR code isn’t distorted.
    • If you have an older device, the screen may be too small. Try a different device.
    • If your screen is cracked or scratched, the code may be distorted. Try a different device.
    • If you’re using a beta version of the Wyze app, make sure the cursor is not on the QR code

Firmware Instructions

What you’ll need:

• Wyze’s webcam firmware
  • Wyze Cam v2 firmware
  • Wyze Cam Pan firmware
• A 32 GB microSD card (recommended)
  • Wyze 32GB MicroSDHC
• Wyze Cam v2 or Wyze Cam Pan
  • Wyze Cam v2
• A USB A to A cable*
  • Amazon USB 3.0 A to A cable

*If you have a USB C to A cable, it may work. Follow the instructions below; if you have issues, switch to a USB A to A cable.

Before you start:

1. Wyze Cam v2 (and Pan) were not designed to be used as a webcam. This firmware is for folks who need a webcam but can’t buy one.
2. This solution should be used “as is.” We are not planning on continuous improvements or bug fixes.
3. Once the Wyze Cam is flashed to webcam firmware, it will not be able to connect to the Wyze app, unless you manually flash it back to stock firmware.
4. This may or may not be compatible with your computer operating system. We have tested and confirmed that it works on Mac OS 10.13, Windows 7 and 10.
5. This solution has been tested and works with Zoom, GoToMeeting, Blue Jeans, Google Hangouts, Skype, and Cisco.

What we know:

• The webcam video, speaker, and mic all function properly.
• Mic audio may be low. We suggest you set your audio level to medium, or use your own microphone and speaker.

How to flash your Wyze Cam to a webcam:

1. Insert the microSD card into your computer.
2. Download the webcam’s special firmware here.
   • Windows 10: Right-click on the file “V2Webcam.zip” or “PanWebcam.zip” and select Extract all to your desktop. Drag and drop the “demo.bin” file on the root directory of your microSD card.
   • Mac OS: Click on the file “V2Webcam.zip” or “PanWebcam.zip”. Drag and drop the “demo.bin” file on the root directory of your microSD card.
3. Eject and remove the microSD card from your computer.
4. Unplug the Wyze Cam from the power source (ex. the end attached to the wall socket).
5. Insert your microSD card into the bottom of the camera.
6. Press and hold the Setup button, then plug your Wyze Cam back into the power source.
7. Continue holding the setup button for 3-6 seconds until the light is solid blue, then release the button.
   • Note: The “Solid Blue” in this case is not the same as the one normally seen on the camera. Instead, both the blue and yellow LEDs will be on at once, appearing as a lighter blue.
8. Wait 3-4 minutes.
   • The camera will reboot, and the light status will change during this time.
9. Once complete, the status light will flash yellow and blue at the same time (not alternating).

Wyze Cam will continue to flash yellow and blue at the same time if the webcam firmware is installed properly and the camera is turned on.

To use your new webcam:

1. Connect the USB A to A cable to the Wyze Cam USB port and the computer USB port.
2. In your video conference tool (ex. Zoom), change the camera source to “HD USB Camera.”
   • We recommend you use a different source for the speaker and microphone functions.
