New GUI – Start Up Wizard (Device Initialization)

DAHUA XVR 4.0 Setup Description

This article will go over the Initialization process of the units with the New GUI.

1. When you first turn on the recorder you will be greeted with the region settings. Click on the drop down menu and select “United States” and click Next.

2. Select the proper time zone setting for your region.

3. You will now be prompted to input a password for the admin account.

4. For easier login you can create a pattern, you will need to enter it twice to confirm.

5. Enter your email in order to reset the admin password in case the password was forgotten, you may also setup security questions.

Note: This is the only method to reset the password for XVRs and NVRs. If you skip this step and forget your device’s password, you will need to replace the unit

6. The Auto-check for firmware is not yet implemented in the U.S. so you can just click on next.

7. Make sure the video standard format is set to NTSC and click on “Next”.

8. Here you can go in depth with the time settings. You may want to set up the DST (Daylight savings) so that it takes affect when the time comes.

9. The recorder will be set as a static default IP address you see on the screen. Input an open local IP address and gateway from you network. If you don’t know this information you can select DHCP (highlighted in the red box) in order to automatically receive an IP address from the router.

10. If you have the recorder properly connected to the router the P2P status will indicate “Online” and you can now remote in to the unit with our mobile app/PC app.

11. You can select the Encode settings for each camera by selecting the drop down menu on “Channel”.

12. Select the resolution and image quality for snapshots.

13. Select what you want to to when the hard drive fills up.

14. Here is you recording schedule, the green will indicate 24/7 recording and Yellow will be Motion recording.

15. Here is you Snapshot schedule, same color legend as recording,

16. Once all that is setup you will be greeted with the final Prompt! You are now finished Initializing you new recorder

New GUI- Add a Dahua Device

Description

This article will show you three different methods to add a dahua device to our New GUI recorders. We will be adding a dahua camera with all three methods.

Method 1:

This first method is extremely simple if all the cameras are still set to default credentials and settings. We will do a device search on the network and add them with a click of a button

Method Two:

The second method is used if there’s an existing camera and it’s password was changed. You will use device search to locate the camera and then go to manual add to change the password it’s being added with

Method Three:

This last method is used when Device Search fails and cannot locate the camera on the network. You will need to type in the camera’s information manually.

New GUI – Account Setup

New GUI – Schedule Record Setup

Description

Dahua NVRs and DVRs offer a variety of recording options. You can configure recording schedules based on the following methods:

These schedules can be set individually for each camera or copied to all cameras.

1. From the Main Menu select “Management”.

2. Select the “Storage” option from the drop-down menu.

3. From the left hand side, select “Schedule”.

4. Select the channel drop-down menu to choose the channel that you want to adjust the recording schedule for.

5. Select “Setting” next to any day of the week.

6. You will have options to set a schedule for General Recording, MD (Motion Detection), Alarm, MD & Alarm, Intel, and POS (Point of Sale). For this tutorial we are using General Recording.

7. Here you can see that you are able to set multiple periods. For this tutorial we will only be setting one period. Check the “General” box, then select the day or days you want to scheduled recordings for, and then select “Save”.

8. Depending on the days selected from the previous step, you will see green colored bars which represents general recording.

9. You can select “Copy” to mirror the same schedule to another channel/camera. Select “Save” in the Copy menu.

10. Select “Save” at the bottom to save all settings. If your changes were successfully saved, a pop-up will appear at the top notifying you as such.

New GUI – Motion Detection Recording Setup

1. On the main menu select Alarm

2. Select Video Detection on the left.
Then select the Motion Detection tab at the top.
Choose the channel from the drop-down next to Channel.
Check the box next to Enable.
Check the box next to Record Channel.
Click on Setting next to Region

3. Highlight the areas in red where you want to track motion.
Then click OK at the bottom

4. Select More at the bottom
Check the boxes next to any of the other options you want to activate when motion is detected.
Click on OK

5. Click on Apply at the bottom.
You will see “Operation Succeeded” at the top when your changes have been saved

6. Click on the Setting drop-down at the top and select Storage

7. Select Schedule on the left.
Then select the Record tab at the top.
Choose the channel from the drop-down next to Channel.
Click on the Setting button next to any day of the week.

8. Check the All box to enable all days of the week.
Check the Motion box for “Period 1”.
Click OK at the bottom.

9. Click on Apply at the bottom to save the settings

10. Select Record Mode on the left.
Then make sure Auto is enabled for the appropriate channel(s).
Click on Apply at the bottom.

11. Click on the Main Menu icon at the top right.
Then select Search

12. Check box next to the channel on the right.
You should see yellow lines/bars for motion recording

Alarm Record Setup

This article is to show you how to setup alarm recording thru new Web GUI.

Note: please refer to product spec sheet for alarm input/output availability. Not all Dahua Recorder support alarm input/output.

Setup Alarm Input

From main menu, click on Alarm. Click on Alarm input. We are using XVR 72 series for this example. The Alarm Input page will launch as shown below:

Select the Alarm input number that you like to use. This number is correspond to the alarm port on the back of recorder.

1. Click Enable to enable the alarm input.

2. Enter Alarm Name. By default is set to AlarmIn#

3. Period is to schedule your Alarm when you want to be enable.

4. With the alarm input, you can trigger recorder’s alarm output.

5. This to select which channel you want recorder to start recording when alarm is triggered.

6. You can call basic PTZ action Preset, Tour, or Pattern when alarm is triggered.

Setup Alarm Recording Schedule

1. From the main menu, click on Management > Storage > Schedule.

2. Select the channel you like to setup.

3. To enable Alarm recording, Click on Setting next to the timeline bar.

4. Set your duration (By default is 24 hour, 00-24). Then select Alarm.

You can select all days to copy the schedule to all week. Click Save.

5. Click Save.

New GUI/Instructions/IVS Record

Description

This article will cover how to configure IVS Recording on a Dahua recorder with the New GUI

Step By Step Instructions

1. From the Main Menu select AI

2. Select Parameters on the left.
Then select Smart Plan below it.
Choose the channel of the camera you are configuring from the Channel drop-down.
Select the IVS “Lightbulb” icon so that it highlights blue.
Then click Apply at the bottom

3. Select IVS on the left.
Choose the channel of the camera from the Channel drop-down.
Then click the + button.
Double-click on the rule type under the Type column to choose the type of IVS rule you want to use.
Adjust all the settings in the Parameters section.
Make sure that the box is checked next to Record Channel and the channel that camera is on is highlighted next to it

4. Draw the rule in the live view on the left by left clicking on it.
Continue to left click to add more segments.
When you are done, right click to finish drawing the rule.
Then click Apply at the bottom

5. Select Setting at the top left.
Then select Storage from the drop-down

6. Select Schedule on the left.
Then select the Record tab at the top.
Choose the channel of the camera from the Channel drop-down.
Then click on Setting to the right of any day of the week

7. Check the box next to All to select all days of the week.
Check the box for Intelligent to the right of Period 1.
(Feel free to adjust the days of the week and the time period for when you want to record IVS events).
Then click on OK

8. You will see blue bars on the schedule representing when IVS events will be recorded, when they are triggered.
Click Apply at the bottom

9. Click on the Menu icon at the top right to go back to the Main Menu.
Then click on Search

10. Check the box next to the camera channel on the right.
Once IVS events have occured they will appear as blue bars on the timeline at the bottom.
Click on the timeline on one of the blue bars to start playing that IVS event

New GUI – Audio Record Setup

Enable audio source

1. 1. Login using a web browser.

2. Click on Setting > Camera.

3. Click on Encode. And then select the camera channel that support audio.

5. Click on the checkmark to enable Audio.

6. Select the Audio source for your HD-CVI camera. If your HD-CVI camera has built-in Microphone, select HDCVI as the audio source. Local option is if you are connecting external microphone to the recorder.

7. Click OK, and then click OK again on the bottom right hand corner.

Setup audio recording

New GUI – Playback

Description

This article will cover how to play back recorded video on an NVR or DVR with the New GUI

1. From the Main Menu select “Video”

2. The Playback menu should open up and look like this:

3. On the right hand side, there will be a calendar. Select the day that you wish to play back video.
Below the calendar is a list of all the cameras/channels. Check the box next to all the cammeras/channels you would like to play back video from.

4. The video footage willl appear on the timeline at the bottom of the screen. It will be color coded to match the types of video that were recorded.
(See the Legend at the bottom of the screen.)

5. Check or uncheck each type of recording that you want to view. Check the Sync box if you would like to sync playback up on all channels you are viewing.

6. Double click on the graph at the bottom to begin playing back video.

This article is to show you how to back up the video file from new system UI.

1. From the main menu, go to the second menu page, and click on Backup.

2. Backup page will launch as shown below:

3. You must plug in an external drive to save your downloaded file. Select the path where you want to save the file at. From this pop-up screen, you have an option to create new folder. After you select, click OK.

4. Select the Record Channel you like to search. You can only search 1 channel at a time.

5. Select the Recording Type you like to search.

6. Set the start and end time for searching. Then click Search. All recorded files that meets your search criteria will shown on the list.

7. Select the files, and click Backup.

8. Downloading process start.

9. Once finished, the folder information will pop up, then click OK.

New GUI – P2P Setup

1. Under “Management” go to Network>TCP/IP

2. You can either set the device on a static ip or turn DHCP on to automatically grab an IP from the network. Save any changes

Remote Access/Remote Access Setup Port Forwarding

Create port forwarding rule in the router

Description

Port forwarding is a function of network routers that allows a user to configure specific communication ports to be routed to devices on an IP (Internet Protocol) network, such as a computer, DVR, or IP camera.In this case for CCTV equipment, it allows the user to view and control CCTV equipment remotely. 1. Connect NVR to network with a CAT5 cable.

2. Download and install ConfigTool from DahuaSecurity.com, under Support->Download Center->Software

3. Run the ConfigTool.

4. The ConfigTool should display your IP Camera. Click the, “” icon to open Internet Explorer and access your NVR.

5. Configure Internet Explorer security settings to allow the plugs to work. Link to Internet Explorer Setup

6. Login with the default credentials: User Name: admin Passsword: admin

7. Under, Main Menu -> Setup -> TCP/IP Change the IP Camera to, “Static” if the camera is currently set to, “DHCP”

8. Open another tab and enter the, “Gateway” address listed under your NVR’s Network settings. Example: 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, 10.0.10.1

9. Login to your gateway and locate the, “Port Forwarding” section.

10. Create port forwarding rules for each port you wish to forward for the NVR. (Usually you will only need to forward the HTTP and the TCP port.) Default Ports: TCP: 37777 UDP: 37778 HTTP: 80 RTSP: 554 HTTPS: 443

11. The end result should look like the below image. We used a Cisco router for this example.

12. Hit, “Save” in the gateway interface, and open another tab.

13. Go to, “www.canyouseeme.org” and check that the ports you opened on the gateway.

How to Access System Using P2P via Mobile Application

Description

View your recorder and cameras on the go. With Dahua’s mobile application IDMSS(IOS)/GDMSS(Android) allows you to add Dahua recorders and cameras to the mobile app using P2P.

Configure Surveillance Station for webcam recording

1. Connect a USB webcam

Connect a USB webcam to a USB port on the Turbo NAS. If the webcam is supported, it will be listed as a log showing a generic UVC camera in “Control Panel” > “System Settings” > “System Logs” on the NAS.

2. Install the QUSBCam QPKG from App Center (either Automatically or Manually)

Automatic installation: Install the QPKG from “App Center” > “Surveillance” > “QUSBCam” of the NAS.

Manual installation: Download the QUSBCam QPKG from the App Center on the QNAP website. Then you can install it by clicking the “Install Manually” button and by selecting the location of the QUSBCam QPKG to start installing.

3. Configure webcam in QUSBCam

First, open “QUSBCam”.

Video settings can be configured here.

4. Configure Surveillance Station

a. Install Surveillance Station

Please note: To ensure proper operations of Surveillance Station, we recommend rebooting the Turbo NAS after its installation is completed.

b. Configure the webcam on Surveillance Station with required settings: (Please check the detailed settings in QUSBCam, “HTTP URL” may vary by different situation.)

Please note: Before applying new settings, you can click “Test” on the right to check that the connection to your webcam is successful.

After you have added the USB webcam camera to your Turbo NAS, go to the “Monitor” page. If it is your first time accessing this page in your web browser, you will have to install an ActiveX control (QMon.cab) before using Monitor or Playback functions. Please follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. You can use Surveillance Station in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Play Video Files from Surveillance Station

Click or to enter the playback page and follow the steps below to play video files on the remote Surveillance Station.

1. Drag and drop camera(s) from the server/camera tree to the respective playback window(s) to select the channel(s) for playback.

2. Select a playback date using  You can examine each channel to discover the time range when files were recorded using each camera. Blue cells indicate regular recording files. If it is blank, it means that no files were recorded at that time.

3. Click to begin playback. You can control the speed and playback direction by dragging the buttonto left or right of the shuttle bar.

4. Specify the time to play back the recording files. You can view a preview image on the timeline bar to search for the moment you want to play.

5. Click to control all the playback windows to play back the recording files. When this function is enabled, the playback options (play, pause, stop, previous/next frame, previous/next file, speed adjustment) will be applied to all of the playback windows.

How to Use QUSBCam2 with USB Cameras?

Overview

QUSBCam2 transforms USB cameras (webcam)(*1) into IP cameras with ONVIF compatibility and full support for the RTSP protocol. Its live view does not require any extra plug-ins in your browser, and it is a handy surveillance tool for homes and small offices.

Requirements

How to View a Live Stream on QUSBCam2

1.Install USB Camera
After connecting the USB camera to the NAS, the USB camera appears on the USB Device page.

2.Set as channel
After installing the USB camera, go to Channel List and click “Create Channel” to create a QUSBCam2 channel.

Set the channel name and video or audio configuration.
Note: Only MJPEG format supports the live function.

3.Check the Channel List
Go to Channel List and check if the thumbnail image of the USB camera is available. If you see the  live button, it means that the camera supports the live function.

Configure Surveillance Station for Webcam Recording

Go to “Surveillance Station” > “Camera Configuration” and then click “Add”. Select “Search camera(s) automatically” and then click “Next”.

For Search type, select “ONVIF” and then select the QUSBCam2 camera. Click “OK”.

Surveillance Station automatically completes the camera information except for the user name and password. Use the same login credentials for the NAS that you are using.

Click  to launch the QVR client to see the live video and recording.

How to locate device on LAN via ConfigTool 3.20

1. Download and install ConfigTool.

2. Run the ConfigTool.

3. The ConfigTool should display your IP Camera’s IP address. Click the, “” icon to open Internet Explorer and access your IP Camera. Alternatively, you can input that IP address into your browser manually.

Configure Internet Explorer Security Settings

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner

3. Click, “Internet Options”

4. Click the, “Security” tab.

7. Input your devices IP address into the top box, click, “Add” and then, “Close”

8. Click, “Custom level…”

9. Click the drop down box at the bottom of this window, and change the setting to, “Low”

Add a Device via P2P using SmartPSS

This allows you to add cameras or recorders via P2P to SmartPSS

1. Locate the serial number of your NVR or DVR. The serial number can be found at the following locations:

On the underside or side of the unit

• 

In the web interface, under Info->Version

• 

On the system interface under Main Menu->Settings->Network->P2P

• 

On the system interface under Main Menu->Info->System->Version

2. Launch SmartPSS. At the main page click Devices

3. Click +Add to add a device

4. The Manual Add window will appear.

5. Use the drop-down box to change ‘Method to add’ to ‘SN(For Device Support P2P)’

6. Enter the Serial Number for the unit in the field SN.

Enter the username and password for the device then click Add

7. The added device will appear in the Device List

8. From the main page of SmartPSS click Live View

9. The added device will apear in the Device List and can be expanded to view all video channels from the device.

DDNS Setup

Description

DDNS stands for Dynamic Domain Name System. The main advantage for DDNS is If you have a dynamic ip address, (where your address can change monthly by your ISP if not static) the DDNS service will track and update with your new IP address automatically. So no matter what your numeric IP address is, your DDNS address will work even if your numeric IP address changes.

Step 1. From the Main Menu Select Network

Step 2. Select DDNS ➞ Check off the “Enable” box.

Step 3. Select “DDNS Type” from the Drop Down menu. Please Note depending on the series model of the recorder you will have either Dahua DDNS or Quick DDNS as one of the options from the drop down menu.

After DDNS is selected it will automatically generate a Host IP. In this case because Dahua DDNS is an option it is www.dahuaddns.com . If Quick DDNS is an option it will automatically generate the designated www.quickddns.com as the host IP.

Step 4. Select either “Default Domain” or “Custom Domain Name”. By Selecting “Default Domain” a Domain Name for the device recorder is the MAC address for this recorder. In this case 4C11BF0B0436.dahuaddns.com is the designated default domain name for this particular recorder. By selecting “Custom Domain Name” you may choose a custom name up to 60 max characters. Please note if you are using a custom domain name you cannot use the same custom domain name from or for another device.

After DDNS is selected it will automatically generate a Host IP. In this case because Dahua DDNS is an option it is www.dahuaddns.com . If Quick DDNS is an option it will automatically generate the designated www.quickddns.com as the host IP.

4. Select either “Default Domain” or “Custom Domain Name”. By Selecting “Default Domain” a Domain Name for the device recorder is the MAC address for this recorder. In this case 4C11BF0B0436.dahuaddns.com is the designated default domain name for this particular recorder. By selecting “Custom Domain Name” you may choose a custom name up to 60 max characters. Please note if you are using a custom domain name you cannot use the same custom domain name from or for another device.

5. Input your email address ➞ Select “Test” and if successful it will prompt a pop up “Successfully Registered” ➞ Select “Yes” ➞ Select “Apply” ➞ Select “OK” to save settings.

How To Setup FTP Snapshot

Please Note You must have an FTP currently set up for this to work.

Step 1. From the Main Menu Select Camera > Encode > Snapshot

Step 2. Select Manual Snap Time. This selection will determine how many snapshots are taken at a time.> Select Channel you want snapshot enabled for > Select Mode Trigger or Timing. Trigger is for events such as motion detect or alarm. You can use timing to set periods for which day of the week and or time you want to snapshot > Select image size > select image quality > select interval > Select “Apply” > Select “OK”

• For Timing Go to the Storage tab > Select Schedule Select Snapshot > Choose which type of event snap shot such as motion, alarm and or IVS if model has IVS capabilities. > Set schedule for which event for the periods, days and hours you wany snapshots set for.

• You can also set the schedule by selecting the settings icon.

•For Trigger Go to Event tab > Choose event type > Check Enable > Check Snapshot and channels > Repeat process for the different types of events > Apply > Save

After you logged in the Web, the Web can automatically get multiple cast address and add it to the multiple cast groups. You can enable real-time monitor function to view the view.

Please note multiple cast function applies to special series only.

PPPoE

PPPoE interface is shown in the above image. Input “PPPoE name” and “PPPoE password” you get from your ISP (Internet service provider). Click save button, you need to restart to activate your configuration. After rebooting, NVR will connect to internet automatically. The IP in the PPPoE is the NVR dynamic value. You can access this IP to visit the unit.

Boot up

Dahua NVR XVR Basic Setup Initial Setup Before the boot up, please make sure:

• For device security, please connect the NVR to the power adapter first and then connect the device to the power socket.
• The rated input voltage matches the device power on-off button. Please make sure the power wire connection is OK. Then click the power on-off button.
• Always use the stable current, if necessary UPS is a best alternative measure.

Please follow the steps listed below to boot up the device. 1. Connect the device to the monitor and then connect a mouse. 2. Connect power cable. 3. Click the power button at the front or rear panel and then boot up the device. After device booted up, the system is in multiple-channel display mode by default.

Start Up Wizard (Device Initialization)

1. When you first turn on the recorder you will be greeted with the region settings. Click on the drop down menu and select “United States” and click Next.

2. Select the proper time zone setting for your region.

3. You will now be prompted to input a password for the admin account.

4. For easier login you can create a pattern, you will need to enter it twice to confirm.

5. Enter your email in order to reset the admin password in case the password was forgotten, you may also setup security questions.

Note: This is the only method to reset the password for XVRs and NVRs. If you skip this step and forget your device's password, you will need to replace the unit

6. The Auto-check for firmware is not yet implemented in the U.S. so you can just click on next.

7. Make sure the video standard format is set to NTSC and click on “Next”.

8. Here you can go in depth with the time settings. You may want to set up the DST (Daylight savings) so that it takes affect when the time comes.

9. The recorder will be set as a static default IP address you see on the screen. Input an open local IP address and gateway from you network. If you don’t know this information you can select DHCP (highlighted in the red box) in order to automatically receive an IP address from the router.

10. If you have the recorder properly connected to the router the P2P status will indicate “Online” and you can now remote in to the unit with our mobile app/PC app.

11. You can select the Encode settings for each camera by selecting the drop down menu on “Channel”.

12. Select the resolution and image quality for snapshots.

13. Select what you want to to when the hard drive fills up.

14. Here is you recording schedule, the green will indicate 24/7 recording and Yellow will be Motion recording.

16. Once all that is setup you will be greeted with the final Prompt! You are now finished Initializing you new recorder

Shutdown

• When you see corresponding dialogue box “System is shutting down…” Do not click power on-off button directly.
• Do not unplug the power cable or click power on-off button to shutdown device directly when device is running (especially when it is recording.)

There are three ways for you to log out.

1. Main menu (RECOMMENDED)

From Main Menu->Shutdown, select shutdown from dropdown list.

Click OK button, you can see device shuts down.

1. From power on-off button on the front panel or remote control

Press the power on-off button on the NVR front panel or remote control for more than 3 seconds to shutdown the device.

Below are the instructions for previous firmware for Dahua recorders:

After device successfully booted up, it goes to startup wizard. Click Cancel/Next button, you can see system goes to login interface. 

Click Smart add, Cancel button or Next button, system goes to login interface.

System consists of four accounts:

• Username: admin. Password: admin. (administrator, local and network)
• Username: 888888. Password: 888888. (administrator, local only)
• Username: 666666. Password: 666666(Lower authority user who can only monitor, playback, backup and etc.)
• Username: default. Password: default (hidden user). Hidden user “default” is for system interior use only and can not be deleted. When there is no login user, hidden user “default” automatically login. You can set some rights such as monitor for this user so that you can view some channel view without login.

Note: For security reason, please modify password after you first login. Within 30 minutes, three times login failure will result in system alarm and five times login failure will result in account lock!

Click Next button, you can go to network interface.

Click Next button, you can go to remote device interface.

Click Next button, you can go to Schedule interface.

Click Finish button, system pops up a dialogue box. Click the OK button, the startup wizard is complete.

An internet connected device (camera, DVR, NVR) can be configured to be accessed from outside its local
network. Using an IP address allocated by the internet provider, the end user is able to connect to this device.
Internet services for non-enterprise solutions commonly provide a dynamic IP address to its users. The lack of a
static IP address means the user must reconfigure their device connection settings every time a new IP address
is allocated. Managing multiple devices will prove difficult if IP addresses are constantly changing. This issue can
be solved by using a Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) Service. A fixed address is assigned by the DDNS
service provider that can be used to connect to the desired device. The device itself must be configured with the
DDNS credentials so that it may automatically update the service with the newly allocated IP address. Through
this service, devices under dynamic IP addresses can maintain static addresses. Hikvision products support a
number of third party DDNS services in addition to HiDDNS/Hik-Connect.

Supported Third Party DDNS Services
Third party DDNS service support for Hikvision products consists of both free and subscription based services:
1. No-IP (Free, optional subscription available).
2. DynDNS (Subscription required).
Limitations
Third party DDNS services may provide different features based on subscription tiers. For example, No-IP’s free
subscription requires confirmation of hostnames every 30 days in addition to a limit of 3 hostnames.
Depending on the end user’s setup and application, not all subscription tiers may be appropriate.
Discretion
User interface may not be identical to the instructions shown below depending on the product, firmware
version, and subscription tier. However, the information and settings required to setup third party DDNS
services are similar across all supporting products.

Introduction:

To remotely access the NVR system on the phone APP or computer software, the cloud network status of the NVR system must be ‘Online’.

For the new version, right-click the mouse on the monitor and go to ‘Fast Network’ to check the cloud network status.

If the system is ‘Offline‘, please refer to this article to make it ‘Online’.

Steps:

1. Make sure the NVR system is connected to the router directly by network cable.

2. Go to ‘Network Setup‘ and make sure ‘DHCP‘ is enabled.

Tip: Reboot the NVR system after checking the above network settings.

If the system is still offline, go to ‘Network Setup‘ to disable ‘DHCP’. Then enter ‘8.8.8.8‘ on ‘Preferred DNS‘. After that, reboot the system and check if the system is ‘online’.

If the system is offline even after the DNS server is changed, please try the instructions below.

1. Change another network cable for the system.

2. Go to ‘System Setup→System Admin→Factory Settings‘ to reset the system.

3. Connect the system to another router if you have one.

For push notifications to work you must have “Event/Motion” and or “Alarm” enabled From the “Device Manager” in the main menu of IDMSS/GDMSS application. Follow the step by step instructions below to setup push notifications.

Prerequisites

• Smartphone with IDMSS/GDMSS PLUS
• Connection and profile to the device
• Event such as Motion Detect must be enabled from Recorder.

1. Open iDMSS/gDMSS on the phone, and select the home icon located on the top left corner.

2. Select the “Message” icon towards the bottom then select the create alert icon towards the top left corner.

3. Select the recorder/camera previously added.

4. Toggle the recorder/camera to enable push notification for that device. As for “Push type”, there are options and depends on which is used the alert will be displayed as is.

5. In this tutorial, let’s take a look at “Motion Dection”. Select the “Motion Dection”.

6. Select which channels the motions are setup, and go back.

7. Click on the save icon located on the top right corner to save the changes.

8. When the motion is being triggered, the push notification message will be displayed.

iDMSS Plus Latest Version

1. Locate and launch iDMSS app on the Phone.

2. Press on the menu icon and press on Message Center.

3. Press on Add alarm device icon.

4. Select the added device.

5. Enable the notification for that device by switching the toggle. It will show blue if on.

6. Select push type. For this tutorial, we are selecting Motion Detect > then press Motion detection > Select the camera channel.

7. Go back to Push Type menu and press Save.

8. Your notification should be subscribe now on the app, you should receive notification when motion is triggered.

iDMSS old version

1. From Main Menu Select “Alarm Manager”

2. Select “Push Config”

3. Select Recorder from list.

4. Select “Push Type” → Select one of the following: Live Preview, Video or Image → Select back icon.

5. Select Alarm Type.

6. Select Camera or Cameras → Select back icon.

7. Select Disk icon to subscribe entry.

3. If you are trying to activate this XVR’s additional IP channels then select “Add IP CAM”; this will require a reboot.

4. If you need to designate a coaxial channel for IP in addition to bonus channels then you can occupy those channels with IP in a reverse sequential order. If you need to force a coaxial channel for HDCVI, AHD, CVBS, or other, this would be the place, although this process should be automatic.
