If you have attempted to change the display output of your recorder to a higher resolution (e.g., 4K Ultra HD) but your monitor does not support 4K Ultra HD, there is a great likelihood that your monitor will (1) lose video signal, (2) turn black and (3) lose the live view.

Note: This document is not designed to replace the product manual from the manufacturer. The information provided is based on our knowledge of the model TRENDnet TV-IP310PI. It may not be accurate or completely up-to-date. Users shall contact the manufacturer for all camera-related issues and contact us only for CameraFTP-related (cloud service / FTP) issues.

The first two steps are camera related and are very trivial. If you have finished these basic steps, you can skip Steps 1 and 2.

Step 1: Connect the camera to the network and find its IP address

Insert the Setup CD, follow the instructions to connect your camera. The TRENDnet TV-IP310PI supports PoE. So usually you need a PoE switch, or you need a compatible power adaptor.

Click Next, the wizard will start searching for the camera in the same network. Within 1-2 minutes, it should be able to find the camera in the network:

DHCP is ok. Click Next. If you are familiar with networking, you can also change its IP address to a static IP address.

This camera has enhanced security. It now requires you to change the default password as the first step. The default username and password is admin / admin. You must change it

After you changed your password, click Next, it will take a while for the camera to actually verify and change the password. When done, it will display the following screen.

Don’t click Next yet. Click “here” instead. (If you already clicked Next, you need to run the Setup program again to reach the above screen again.)

After you click Here, it will launch a browser to access the camera’s configuration screens. See the screenshot below:

Step 2. Access the Camera’s Web-based Configuration Tool

Now we have found the camera’s IP address. The first step is to log on to the camera. Enter the camera’s username and password, click Ok. It will go to the following screen:

If you have not installed the plug-in, you can install it for the live-view in your browser. For CameraFTP service, since we offer cloud viewing, storage and playback, it is not needed. You can click the Advanced tab.

The CameraFTP service setup is generally not dependent on any parameters in the System section of setup. You can quickly check this section and see if you need to configure anything.

Step 3. Configure the video profile

Click Advanced à Video à Video Format, you can see the screenshot as follows:

The parameters to enter are dependent on your subscription level. For the TRENDnet camera, the lowest resolution is 720P, so your plan should not be lower than 1280×720. If you ordered 5 frames/s, you can select 4 in the Frame Rate drop-down since this camera does not support 5 FPS.

Please note: The Max bit-rate must be changed. The default bit rate is designed for local network only. Setting it too high will slow down your network connection and causing upload to fail. Please also make sure your Internet connection has enough upload bandwidth. (ADSL type of connection is usually too slow, you might need to set the bit rate even lower.) Assuming you have enough upload bandwidth, you can set the maximum bit rate based on the bandwidth calculator.

Step 4. Configure FTP Storage

Click Advanced à Storageà FTP Server, you will see the following screen.

You need to set the following parameters:

• Enable snapshot to FTP: Enabled
• Server address: 66.220.9.45
• Port: 21
• Username, password and confirm password:The same username and password used on CameraFTP.com
• Directory structure: Save in directory
• Directory: With Camera Name

Step 5. Configure Events (Motion Detection and Snapshots)

5.1 Configure Motion Detection

If you ordered a plan with motion detection enabled, then you must configure motion detection with your camera. Click the “Events” tab and select Motion Detection as shown below:

• Enable Motion Detection: Enabled
• Draw a motion area in Area Settings; set the sensitivity level;
• Upload to FTP: Checked

5.2 Configure Image Snapshot Settings

This camera can only upload image snapshots and not video clips. It is ok as CameraFTP has viewer apps that can play the recorded image snapshots just like video clips. If you ordered a video plan, you need to: (1) order a new image plan and cancel the old video plan; or (2) Run CameraFTP VSS on a PC. Do not configure FTP in the camera. VSS can upload video clips to CameraFTP.

The snapshot image resolution is set in the Video section (Video resolution).

If you ordered a continuous image recording plan, you need to click Events à Snapshot. See the screen below:

In the CONTINUOUS section:

• Enable: Check it
• Format: JPEG
• Resolution: 1280×720 (based on your CameraFTP service level)
• Quality: Medium
• Interval: 1 second (based on your subscription level)

If you ordered a motion detection plan, you must configure the camera with motion detection:

In the EVENT-TRIGGERED section, please set:

• Enable: true
• Format: JPEG
• Resolution: 1280×720 (based on your CameraFTP service level)
• Quality: Medium
• Interval:1000ms (based on your subscription level). If you ordered 1 image/2s, then enter 2000ms.

Click Save to save the settings.

6. CameraFTP Viewer

You are all done. For safety, you can reboot the camera to make sure it still works fine. If you need to make changes, you can run the setup program again to find the camera’s IP address (as it may change with DHCP), and then access the camera’s Advanced Configuration pages.

After your camera is setup, you canv visit monitor or play back your recorded footage from anywhere. You can also download CameraFTP Viewer App for iOS and Android.

Note: Most (outdoor) TRENDnet cameras cannot upload video clips to FTP server directly. To upload video clips, you can use CameraFTP VSS on a PC. These cameras are compatible with VSS-based Live View, Cloud Recording and Local Recording. If you use VSS for video recording, it is important to set the correct video frame rate and bit rate in Video Profile Settings.

Wansview HD 720P and Full HD 1080P cameras are compatible with CameraFTP cloud recording service. Wansview has indoor, outdoor and PTZ models, all of them support recording video clips in MP4 format. For CameraFTP video recording plans, Wansview is a recommended brand.

Basic camera information

Note: This document is not designed to replace the product manual from the manufacturer. The information provided is based on our knowledge of the models Wansview NCM620GA, MCM622GA, M625W, NCM751GA and K1 Cameras. We have not fully tested all models; the configuration steps and the screenshots are not identical for all models; however, we believe they are very similar. The information provided may not be accurate or completely up-to-date. Users shall contact the manufacturer for all camera-related issues and contact us only for CameraFTP-related (cloud service / FTP) issues.

Most of the setup steps below are camera related and are very trivial. If you have finished these basic steps before, then you can skip Steps 1 and 2.

Step 1: Connect camera to the network and find IP address

1.1 Connect camera to the network

If you want to use wired connection, you just need to connect the Ethernet cable. Otherwise, there are several ways to connect the IP camera to your Wi-Fi network. Please read the product manual for detailed instructions.

(1) If your Wi-Fi router does not support WPS, then you can connect the camera with the router using an Ethernet cable first. You can configure the Wi-Fi settings in the camera’s configuration pages later. For Wi-Fi only cameras, you must use manufacturer’s mobile app to connect it to the network.

(2) If your Wi-Fi access point/router supports WPS, then it is very easy to connect your device to the network.

Turn on the camera and press the WPS button on your Wi-Fi access point (router) for 3 seconds; the WPS button will usually start flashing. Next, quickly press the WPS button on your camera. In about 1 minute, you will see the status light changes, indicating it is connected to the wireless router.

1.2 Find the Camera’s IP Address

Please refer to the manufacturer’s manual for more detailed information. Usually you will run the included IP Camera Search Tool to find the camera. If your computer does not have a DVD/CD drive, then you can download CameraFTP VSS software to find the camera’s IP address. ( After you find the camera’s IP address, you can stop / uninstall VSS. Note: This camera is compatible with VSS-based Cloud Recording. You can use VSS as a cloud-enabled NVR, which requires a PC. )

Step 2: Configure the Camera Using the Web-based Configuration Tool

Most IP cameras don’t support Chrome, incl. this camera. So please download Firefox web browser if you don’t have it already. Launch Firefox, and visit:

http://IP_ADDRESS/(e.g. http://192.168.1.2)

The default username is admin, and password is 123456. (It is recommended that you change the password.)

After you log on to the camera, please install the Plug-in:

Click “View Video Mode 1”, it will display the live view screen:

Click Setup, you will see the Setup Main screen. Click Network and then click the FTP tab, you can enter the FTP information as shown in the screenshot below.

With CameraFTP’s service, most regular setup steps are not required. (You can check these steps in the Camera Configuration screen to make sure everything is configured correctly).

2.1 Setup or Re-configure Wi-Fi

If you had already connected the camera with your wireless router, then skip this step.

Otherwise, click the Network tab, then click Wireless Setup, you will see the screen below.

Click Search to find all available Wi-Fi routers, then select a router to connect. You will be asked to enter the wireless password, after done, click Save.

If Wi-Fi is configured successfully, you can unplug your network cable later.

Step 3. Configure the FTP settings

Click Network à FTP, you can see the screen as follows. If you don’t already have an account on CameraFTP, please visit www.cameraftp.com and sign up a free trial account. CameraFTP offers 3-day free trial. When the trial ends, you will need to order a subscription to continue using the service.

Assuming you already have a CameraFTP Account, then you need to enter the following info:

• • FTP Server:ftp.cameraftp.com (or IP: 66.220.9.45)

• • Port:21

• • FTP Mode:PASV (This camera uses PASV by default. No configuration is needed)

• • FTP Path:You camera folder path.

• Username / Password:FTP username is your CameraFTP username, FTP password is available in Configure IP Cameras page. (Your CameraFTP password may also work).

Note: In the above screenshot, WansviewPTZFullHD is the folder name, which is the same as the camera name that you created on www.CameraFTP.com website when you added a new camera.

Click Save to save the settings. After that, you need to configure the video / image resolution.

Step 4. Configure Video Profile and Image/Video Recording Options

Based on your subscription, you need to configure either video settings or image snapshot settings. You shall not configure both settings, otherwise, you need to order two separate camera licenses.

4.1 Configure Video / Image Profile (Resolution, Frame Rate, Bit Rate)

In the Video & Audio tab, click “Video”, see the screenshot below.

It seems you only need to configure the first stream, which supports two video sizes: 1920×1080 and 1280×720.

The resolution and frame rate should be based on the CameraFTP plan you subscribed to;

The Bit Rate is a little tricky; setting too high will overuse the bandwidth, thus dramatically slow down your network, causing failed uploads; setting too low will affect the video quality. You can use our bandwidth calculator to estimate the bandwidth. Visit www.cameraftp.com, click Pricing, and then customize a service plan. See the screenshot below.

Note for estimating the bandwidth, Number of Cameras should be set to 1.

For the video plan of 1920×1080, 3 frames/s, the estimated bandwidth is 770Kbps. You you can set it to a value smaller than 1024Kbps.

If you ordered an image plan, then you only need to select the correct video resolution. The resolution of the image snapshots will be the same as the First Stream video.

Click Save to save the video settings.

4.2 Configure Video or Image Recording

If you ordered an image recording plan, then you should configure Alarm Action to upload image “snapshots to FTP server”. Otherwise, check “Recording to FTP server”. Please don’t check both checkboxes, or you need two separate camera licenses.

• • “Snapshot to FTP server” will record image snapshots to FTP server. Each motion will trigger 3 images to be uploaded in 3 seconds. Continuous events will trigger continuous recording at 3 images/30 seconds. Video recording is clearly a better option for this camera model.

• “Recording to FTP server” will record video clips to FTP server. It can record a 30-second video clip for each motion event. Continuous events will trigger continuous video recording at 1 video clip per 30 seconds. The video format is .MP4, which is compatible with all browsers and platforms.

For the image recording plan, you can only order 1 image/10 seconds at 1920×1080 or 1280×720.

By default, you can only set motion-triggered recording. However, you can set the motion sensitivity to 100 for continuous recording.

4.3 Configure Motion Detection (required)

Click the Alarm tab à Motion Detection as shown below.

Just draw a rectangle and set the motion sensitivity. For motion-triggered recording plans, please leave it at 50; for continuos recording, set it to 100.

Click Save to save the change.

NOTE: Please do not configure both video recording and image recording. It will be considered as two camera licenses!

You are all done!

5. CameraFTP Viewer

You can disconnect the Ethernet cable if you want to use Wi-Fi. If you need to make changes, you can run the CameraFTP Virtual Security System program again to find the camera’s IP address (as it may change with DHCP), and then access the camera’s Configuration pages.

After your camera is setup, you can visit www.cameraftp.com to view or play back your recorded footage from anywhere. You can also download CameraFTP Viewer App for iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

Note: This camera is compatible with VSS-based Live View, Cloud Recording and Local Recording. You can use VSS as a cloud-enabled NVR, which requires a PC. If you want to use VSS with this camera, you will need to select the following video stream:

Usually, the POE NVR system we sell includes several POE IP cameras so that camera can be plugged into NVR’s ethernet port directly.

But some customers may need to connect non-POE IP cameras to NVR.

In this situation, the cameras should meet two requirements below.

1. The IP camera must support the onvif protocol.

2. The IP camera’s resolution had better equal to or lower than resolution NVR.

3. The camera should be connected to the router, by cable, or by wifi. Therefore, a wireless camera is also OK.

Here are the steps:

1. Please use a network cable to connect the IP camera to a router, and connect the camera to a power source by adapter.

2. Connect the NVR to the same router by network cable.

3. Go to the Main Menu—Config—Channel to search the camera’s IP.

4. It will detect the camera’s IP. Add it to the system.

Come back to the main screen and the image of the IP camera appears.

1. Insert a USB drive (FAT32 format) into the device. Most models of Dahua recorders will have a USB port on the front and rear of the unit, either can be used.

2. From the Main Menu go to Network

3. Click P2P

4. Click to disable the P2P feature

Click Apply

5. Return to the Main Menu

Click Operation

6. Click Network

7. Click Test

8. Confirm the USB drive is detected, under Device Name

Click ‘Refresh’ if you do not see the device in the drop-down box

9. Click ‘Sniffer Packet Backup’ next to the appropriate NIC card to begin the backup

10. The icon will change once the backup has begun

11. Return to the P2P menu

From Main Menu click Network

12. Click P2P

Click to enable the P2P service then click Apply

13. Return to the Main Menu

14. Click the Pause button under ‘Sniffer Packet Backup’

15. Remove the USB drive from the recorder and connect it to a PC

You should have one or several *.PCAP files. Please email these files to your Technical Support Representative for further analysis.

Purpose: For some newly released analog cameras, they have their own OSD menu. In this menu, the users could change the working mode, adjust the image parameters, and reset the camera, and so on.

NOTE: If you want to reset the camera to the factory default, please connect the camera with the DVR via the BNC cable.

Here are the steps for you:

1. Please access the system and go to the Menu–>Camera–>PTZ, and select the camera and click the PTZ button.
   
2. On the PTZ Menu, please click the ‘+’ icon to enter the main menu:
   
3. After that, you could see the Main Menu. On the Main Menu, you could see the option FACTORY DEFAULT. Please click the down arrow icon to reach the option. After that, please click the right arrow icon to restore the settings of the camera.

Note: These instructions only apply for WiFi NVRs and Cameras.

1. Connect the NVR and IP Camera directly to your router or modem with a CAT5 cable.

2. Open the ConfigTool and locate your NVR and IP Camera.

3. Login to both using Internet Explorer.

4. On the NVR, go to Settings->Network->WiFi Device Manage

Be sure to note the SSID and Password.

5. On the IP Camera, go to Setup->Network->WiFi

6. Locate your NVR’s SSID, and click once.

7. Input your NVR’s SSID password, and click, “Connecting”

8. Go back to the NVR page, go to Settings->Network->WiFi Device Manage

Confirm that the camera is displaying on this page and note the IP address.

9. On the NVR page, go to Setting->Camera->Remote and click, “Manual Add”

10. Input the following:

• Channel: (Any)

• Manufacturer: Private

• IP Address: (Your IP Camera’s IP Address)

• TCP Port: 37777

• User Name: admin

• Password: (Your IP Camera’s password.) Default is, “admin”

• Remote Channel No. (Any)

• Decode Buffer: Default

11. Hit, “Save”
